Hey my girlfriend and I are indoor organic growers. this is our first time around with soil and we are growing the strain purp dog. we got killer results with our first two harvests using perlite and coco coir with earth juice sugar peak nutrients, but we're now trying a different approach we'd like to share:

Soil ammendments so far:
-bone meal
-blood meal
-bird and bat guanos
-feather meal
-powdered gypsum
-powdered dolomite lime
-prilled dolomite lime
-soft rock phosphate
-sul-po-mag
-kelp meal
-soluable seaweed
-granular humate
-alfalfa meal
-all purpose 5-5-5 (organic)
-greensand
-oyster shell powdered and chunks

For our base soil we use gardener and bloome and masters pride along with coco coir, perlite, and worm castings mixed in.

whats up! we just got our clones in two days ago. we're stoked! we chose a strain called "purp dog" from an organic breeder/grower here in cali. he claims that purp dog is a strain made by the same individual who created "sensi star." This strain is a cross between sensi star, skunk, and trainwreck. we have not yet transplanted the clones into our 1 gallon veg pots. that happens tomorrow. The quality of these pictures isnt that great, but you can clearly see all the healthy node growth on these tiny 6" clones. amazing!

the transplant to 1 gallon veg pots was successful. we layered the pots with more than 5 different layers of custom soil mixes, nitrogen blends, and mulch to aid in the organic decomposition process. we then watered them with pure reverse osmosis water at a reading of 0 ppm on the tds meter. these plants are already digging the special treatment. :weed:

subscribatized!
looks interesting ;)
i haven't grown indoors yet but if things work out for you i'll be a comin with many questions!
glad to hear things are organic

Looks good, assuming all these are females cause you said there clones. If all 16 are females and all grow healthy how much you think you'll yield? Im new to growing and from my understanding a plant should bring anywhere from an oz to a qp per plant? You plan on LST?

Wow!!! Looks killer. I am in cali to were can i get some clones? I would love to check out that strain!

thanks for the replies.
at "itz 420:" the yield of a plant depends a lot on the grower. some strains are notoriously heavier producers than others, but only in the right environments. from these 16 plants we should get anywhere from 2 to 3 pounds. we do not plan on lsting this time. we are going to try a different topping technique.

at "gopedxer:" we found these clones through craigslist. you should check out the ads online in your area or surrounding areas. marijuana dispensaries also carry clones. hope this helps.

we'll be updating the journal soon. peace everyone

Cant wait to see this get underway! Im right about at the same stage as you. Is your soil going to have everything in it your ladies need all the way through or are you going to be using additives? Good Luck and ill be checking in frequently!

hey! good to hear from a fellow organic grower!

we plan on top dressing with guanos and kelp meal as needed and doing compost tea waterings twice a month, but thats about it for feeding. like you said, everything is right in the soil in layers so all we really have to do is water and transplant.

here's some pictures i took today. the plants are now about a week and two days old. there's also a picture of a seedling from an 8th of "lemon" we stuck in some extra soil. it looks to be doing quite healthy. hopefully it's not a male! have a good day everyone.

Really nice and quite a grow set up. I noticed all of your pots have holes on the side. Did you buy them that way or drill holes? I have thought about trying this my self to simulate an Air Pot. Have you or someone else tried this and found benefits?

Thanks... yeah, we got 16 used pots from a local nursery for $1.07, then drilled holes down the sides of all of them. We have six air-pots from our previous grows and they cost like $50 used, around $70 new. I've been seeing a lot of different kinds of air-pots that people are using (who all swear by the specific brand they have) and they all seem to pretty much do what we want, no matter what style the holes are. ie egg carton design, mesh, little holes in some weird pattern with 1/4" bits of plastic sticking out on the inside, blah blah blah. It seems that any holes in any pots, if there are enough, will prevent root cycling and air-prune roots. :]
