RDGgreenthumb 2010 Outdoor Grow

Good news, the termites didnt kill the himalayas nore slow down their growth since my last updat. Actually when i was there yesterday there was no sign of them so the Azamax is doing it job. Going to keep spraying the base of the stalks after most rains approx once a week. Big Bangs have a couple more weeks.

Nice! Great to see all the MJ enthusiasts out there! I heat what you're saying about it taking so long. I can't wait either!

Everythings going well. The Big Bangs should be harvested next friday, and the Himalaya Golds will be given a cut-off date off Oct 31st. Hopefully it matures by then but i just dont want to take the risk of leaving it til the major hunting seasons start. Here are the pics (HG is the lesser developed one obviously)

looking good. I got to see my outdoor plot for the first time in about a month yesterday. I have 3 Churches planted (thought I only had 1), 1 LA woman, 3 Himalaya golds and around 15 Arjans Haze #1. I was completely blown away by how great everyting looked. The Church's have turned purple from the cold, looked pretty cool; they'll be ready next week. The Himalyas are crazy, same like my potted plants but 3X bigger. The Arjans haze are 7 feet tall and bushy with colas the size of Louville sluggers. I just hope they come close to finishing before end of Oct. Forgot my camera when I went out, I'll post picks on my thread next week after I go back.

If I could give you any advice for next year, use 10 gal grow bags and bring some soil out to mix.

Thanks, van. Im actually not using grow bags though. Planted directly in the ground. Made a 6 x 3 ft. terrace on the hillside and mixed 50/50 Fox Farms soil conditioner with the native soil. The absolute reason why my plants arent producing as well as they could is tree cover.. Not nearly enough direct sunlight. Next year i'll change things like :more spots, more plants, better locales, new strains, and will be transporting the plants to there outdoor homes earlier and smaller, like once theyre ready to be out of 16 0z party cups theyll be going directly in the ground. This should ease the load and make them much easier to carry. The toughest part is finding suitable spots away from people. Where i have them now is ideal for security but it sacrifices sunlight. I've been interested in running some haze strains next year, sounds like you would recomend the arjans haze.. but which one is it? A.H. 1,2,3? Will your haze be finishing in due time?
Thanks for your support Van, i'll stay in touch. Happy harvest!!

Looks nice man! Good luck wiht the harvest. I only got 6 oz's off my three females. Which is okay. Next year!

I'm still in the process of drying and making some hash. I'll be updated with pics and weight by tomorrow hopefully. Next year for sure! My density is lacking due to the location but i still count it as a success! Time to start scouting..

There is no way my haze's will finish, I think I'm about 3 weeks away and I know they can go 4 weeks. I'm probably going to cut them down tonight, I'm going to take pics. Although I live at sea level, my plants are an 1.5 hours away in the mountains. Temps are supposed to go down to 34 tonight in the nearest town, which means 30 degrees where the are, 30 degrees for the next 3-4 days.

Mine are AH #1. If you're going to plant haze, I would go with Super Silver Haze, it's supposed to finish 2 weeks sooner...mid Oct.

Had to harvest Himalaya Gold today. The termites really did a number on it. Was still alive but stalk couldnt hold its weight. Still nice and green when we found it so everythings good.Really wish it could have gotten a couple more weeks, the buds started turning purple. Another bad note, my camera's broken so no pics til i get things sorted out sorry.

The HG smells much more dank, like a kush, compared to the Big Bang which has an 'apple tea' smell to it. This is supported by the fact of HG's genetics.. the nepalese, which is a close cousin of the pakistani/hindu kushes, and northern indian which in turn are close cousins to the nepalese so very kushy; and super dense! BB def stoned feeling which lasts for hours. My p.i.c. is already out of his big bang while i still have my full boat since i've stopped smoking in lieu of a piss test for a welding job. Ill post pics asap. Thanks & peace
