Idk man again cultivating is different than possessing. But what do I know I’ve only been to prison for a little less than a decade for drug trafficking. Doesn’t matter how big the plant is. Cultivating is its own section. Just like flower is a violation but distillate is a controlled substance In NY. I think you shouldn’t have done anything illegal out in the open if you were worried about it. You should have kept you and yours safe from the jump if that’s the route you wanted to take.

Bro just get yourself a grow tent I'm in New York same issues if you're under 3-4 plants don't really worry because that's just a ticket depending on where you are though but if you're really worried about the smell you can get vents you can get exhaust fans for twenty bucks on Amazon but don't be too paranoid chances are that guy can give a shit less he probably gets patient money anyway I don't see him going out of his way to tell the authorities about one kid who he smelled weed in his house lol good luck

100s but no one hear gives a shit they're fighting a never ending losing battle I can't stand the people who grow and sell to kids if you do it because it benefits you and its personal then fuck it. I do it because it helps me cope with depression. What's wrong with that because no other meds work. I truly belive I would not be hear now if it wasn't for canabis. Thank you mother nature.

Last years was perfect, bloody good job i put more in this year cuz i reckon ill see 3 gram if im lucky total. I got 5 gram off that one last year lolHey I remember your windowsill grow from last year! I thought it was pretty cool. You only had one that time, but you said you barely need any at night to help sleep or something. Looks like all the advice has been given here already so I hope it works out for you.

Maybe you should come to the U.S. - a legal state specifically. It might change the way you think of weed - more than a bit.
Most tokers here just have some on hand at all times; whether from the dozens of dispensaries nearby, or from our own gardens.
A few plants, a few ounces of flower, a few grams of hash or oil and a pound or two of canna-butter in the fridge describes more houses than mine.
There are literally truckloads at the dispensaries - first visit to a large one is like an expensive trip to Wonka-Land. It's even taxed.
Depending on where you are - SoCal for me - vapes in public and an occasional pipe hit are more acceptable than cigarettes.
Headaches
When I have a headache I usually turn to some RSO under my tongue and about a 1/4 tsp of strong canna-butter in lemon tea.
If that doesn't work I break out the chemicals...

If my research and understanding is correct, growing cannabis is illegal where you are with no personal exemptions.
Here in canada, before legalization, when someone was charged with cultivation, as mentiomed, it is plant count period. Seedlings, clones, spindly 3 gram plants are all equivalent to the law.
Growing is cultivation, no matter the size. The word cultivation does not imply any size or scale in and of itself. The courts and judge sort that out.
Further to this, my understanding is there is no legal distinction between cultivation for personal, or cultivation with intent to traffic.
Others have said you will get a warning. I cannot see how this can be guaranteed to you by anyone.
What you are doing is illegal, and you will be subject to the whims of the officers that may or may not ever show up at your door. We also can't tell you if they are coming or ever will.
By letter of the law, those officers would be required to arrest and charge you with a criminal offense, doing otherwise is contrary to their job. If the officers were the type to ignore it, it would be just that, truly ignored, as if they never came, and never saw anything. They cannot fine you, or give an official warning, as there is no provision for a fine or warning under the law. They either do their job to the letter, or they let you go by making a choice to not uphold the law.
If you are charged with a criminal offense, you will go to court where you will get to plead your case to the judge. This is where your lawyer explains that it was for personal use, was not an organized operation, and that you have no prior record and will never ever do it again.
Now the Judge decides how much weight to give your defense, and if your courts don't have mandatory minimum sentencing, you might get that warning you are hoping for.
Even though your grow is small, you live in prohibition land, and as such, you are playing at being an outlaw.

I am not from the UK. What is a gas boiler man and how did he get in your house? Or if you knew he was coming, you could have put your plants in a closet or something and spray some air freshener around the house. I am sure you have a right to privacy where you live. Did he smell the plants from outside your home?

Hey, @BB84! I live in an illegal country, but weed is decriminalized here. I can poses 1/8 oz and grow less than 20 plants with no criminal record. Harvest and drying is most dangerous time as one plant usually gives 1 oz or more. And get busted with that amount of weed on hand will lead to distribution intent.
In my experience to have a proper grow op is more secure than windowsill grow. A tent will give you better yield and keep the smell inside the tent. I build my self a closet like this: https://www.migrolight.com/stealth-grow-closet-build-manual/. With closet you get less stress as random people coming in to your house will see just a closet and not a grow tent. Less suspicious. You can put inside a proper carbon filter and grow low smelling strain.
For your needs one autoflower plant will be more than enough.

You'd probably get a very small fine or community service in the UK first time. Any sort of flowering plant will stink the house out, get a small tent, filter and light.
