do you have a uv light?

im just asking because i used 2 reptile uva/uvb bulbs this last grow in my 2x2 tent and man my weed is stronger than anything i have purchased in all 2022/2023 no bs way stronger 1 hit gets me blasted :O

if your not using a uvb/uva light i suggest you buy one asap! it will make huge difference in thc potency :) it is worth the investment!

Damn the stuff i got at the dispo is 23% and that is way way way too much for me, its bed time weed for sure, one joint and its bed time!
i purchased weed all 2022 and 2023 at dispo's some they said was 31% thc like a quarter of gelato i purchased, others claim 20% etc....

what i have realized with growing pot is

the amount of thc that your plant has and how potent the thc is are 2 different worlds.

just because a plant has 30% thc does not mean that it is "high potency" thc

like i just grew some zkittlez with uvb/uva and bro it is not that frosty but it gets me so freaking stoned lol 1 bowl and im blasted into outer space, like i produced "high potency" thc.

this weed gets me way more stoned than anything i was sold at the dispos. i believe its the uvb/uva that made it this strong.

UV is a highly debated topic in the growing community, with alot of research papers available.

All I am going to say is wear eye and skin protection if youre being exposed to UV light for any prolonged periods.

I think youre going to have alot of really chunky buds, but experience tells me as few as 2 or as many as 4 will be your main colas, and they will get precipitously smaller the farther they get from the light. This isnt a bad thing mind you, and I could be wrong. The plant is approaching mid flower, theres still alot of development ahead.

Percentages are largely marketing, and they dont paint the whole picture. Dispo weed can be good, but its mostly well whiskey imo. Home grown, with good practices and genetics, is top shelf sippin whiskey. The one in a million genetics grown to their potential is the aged whiskey they lock up in the basement for truly special occasions.

It was likely harvested too early. Let it run long, to full maturity, it will take a bit of the edge off.
See I have been told that if you let it go long to mostly amber tricomes that is when you get the brain dead couch lock type stone, i was told for an uplifiting enegizing stone, you want to harvest when the tricomes are mostly cloudy and clear with no amber?

To a degree, you can get the effects to lean a little more one way or the other by harvesting at the beginning or the end of your harvest window, but most of the smoke effects will be predetermined by genetics

I can tell you that in my few years of researching on forums, I have seen maybe 4 or 5 over ripe plants. I have lost count of all the early harvest gear I have seen around. I think that racy feeling that you find a bit overwhelming comes from early harvest. Again, this is all my opinion.

So I am 29 days into flower, Just starting to see tricomes coming in, how long would you suggest going forward or what would you suggest I look for?

So, this is going to vary cultivar to cultivar, some plants race to the finish, some slow to a crawl, but just from looking at them, I would say 5 more weeks, or ROUGHLY 70 days of flower.

You will see the hairs start to turn orange, the buds will fill out a bit, then all the hairs will turn orange, the individual calyxs start filling out, and the orange hairs will recede into the fattened calyx. The plant will visually stop fattening, but the inside will keep filling out, branches will sag, and thats usually the window where I start regularly checking trichs on buds all over the plant to see how the clear/cloudy/amber ratios are developing. This can also vary a bit from cultivar to cultivar, grower to grower, so dont take it as gospel.

Awesome thanks brother! This one is suppose to have Sativa Genetics in the Auto, so I figured the advertised time to harvest was bullshit lol

Harvest times, like oh so many things about cannabis, is just marketing. My favorite part about the online community is that I can vet most things from people who have actually grown it.

And if nobody else has documented it, we can be the source for others who are trying to navigate the crazy world of cultivation!
