I use 2" neoprene collars, 1/4" thick. Put the seed part on the top and snake the tap root down so its visible on the other side. Which is why I use the 1/4" thick collars. 1" thick ones you'd need the tap root really long.

I see. So after the seeds have germinated and you see the little roots, you take the seeds and put them directly into the neoprene collars, with the little roots through them.
