400w HPS supperskunk week one budding

wow, that's a little harsh. I think fthood was trying to help, but with replies like that, doubtful he will help again. I know you have that fan blowing, but I would recommend an oscillating fan as well. you might have one, i just couldn't see it in the pictures. also, just another...

    Favorite Grow Mediums.......

no, hydroclay (AKA expanded clay pellets) are just what they sound like, little balls of clay that drain well, but also hold some moisture. They are a very good medium because they drain so quickly and allow plenty of air into the root system

Is It Time For Aggressive Growth?

someone on RIU advised me to not use nutes until they were 4 weeks from germination and even then to start with a 1/4 strength solution. I have been doing that and 2 days after starting with the 1/4 strength, they explode with growth. always important to double check the PPM of the solution...

First Time Hydro, Rock wool Grow

you wont be able to tell what sex they are until they're either old enough to show preflowers, which wont be until at least 4 weeks into veg cycle, or if you clone them and put the clones on a 12/12 light cycle. I would just grow the crap out of them and worry about that later.

Opinions On Setup, Feeding, Possible Mild Nute Burn?

I am using a similar setup with the rockwool surrounded by hydroclay and when my plants were that size I was feeding every 4 hours for 3 min. per time. When i first started, I found that I was overwatering but err on the side of caution and let it air out a bit. with rockwool, ive been told...

    increase humidity

I started out with a warm air humidifier that i got at walmart, but the problem was that with my well water, it would crust up and get really hard to clean on the heating element. at the time it was winter, and I was having a hard time keeping the temp above 65, but now its summer, i just...

    Favorite Grow Mediums.......

i really like starting in rockwool cubes and then surrounding with hyrdoclay. it's almost impossible to over water with rockwool (although it IS possible) because it holds 18% air at all times as long as it's not submerged in water. the hydroclay is reusable with some work as well.

how do my purple haze plants look? newb needs help...PICS!!

i dont know if you want to flood for 30 minutes, that might be too long. the key to using flood and drain with hydroclay (I am using the same system, but in my flower room, not my veg room) is to flood and drain every 3 hours. I have read on some other posts that you dont want to choke the...

New to hydro...roots in the water??

I learned by watching these videos on youtube. search for "i grow chronic" parts 1-9, it's a very basic drip irrigation system for the veg part, and an ebb/flow for the flowering stage. It's a good start and the guy is pretty funny to watch. I never even considered growing my own until I saw...

So Many Nutrients. Which Do I Choose?

someone on here recommended a box set called the Recipe for Success. It's $33 and comes with BC grow, BC bloom and BC boost, thrive alive B1 red and thrive alive B1 green, awesome blossom, sugar daddy, and magiCal. I have had zero problems with it and it seems to be decently priced. I think...

day 56, no signs of preflowers yet

weird thing is that my last grow (which was really just to experiment through the veg phase, since I had to leave for 2 weeks) I had preflowers showing to the naked eye around week 8 from germination. it's all just bagseed that I'm using, so I don't really know the strain. And that time, I was...

    AeroGarden FIRST grow (Re-do lol)

hey Luv, not sure if this will work, but you want to keep the roots in a dark place, I think best bet would be to leave them in the paper towel (if that's how you germinated them) and leave them somewhere dark and warm for now. Not sure if this will work for 2 days, but it's worth a shot. any...

    AeroGarden FIRST grow (Re-do lol)

PPM is a reading of dissolved solids in the solution, stands for Parts Per Million. It's a pretty important factor, as if you have to high of a PPM, it will burn the plants, and if it's too low, it will starve them. You don't need to worry about using nutes until your plants are at least 6"...

So What's Your Favorite Smoking Device???

I've love my bong, but want to know if vaporizers are good too. i know they're expensive, but if they truly keep the bad stuff out of your lungs, it would be worth it I suppose. I don't see much on here about vaporizers, just a few posts. Thoughts on any cheaper vaporizers? I know the...

    AeroGarden FIRST grow (Re-do lol)

I have also used the recipe for success kit, although not in aero, it was in a drip irrigation. just be careful when you're mixing, when I mixed the 1/2 strength formula, the PPM was much higher than the instructions indicated, and I was using distilled water, so the PPM of the water was very...

best way to keep plants short and bushy?

thanks everyone for the feedback! It's just some bagseed from some avg. commercial stuff that I got. Trying to get my feet wet before ordering some good seeds. I've topped all my plants around week 4 of veg. growth. I have one that is shorter and fuller, I hope it's a female so I can use it...
