    DIY with Quantum Boards

The Cc drivers are typically more efficient on amp draw ( look at thew data sheets ). I would go to HLG website QB Guide, Videos, Check out "LED Gardner's Video's. Ryan/Led Gardner is super informative.

To avoid smell or dust, I just scoop in into one of those mini plastic condiment containers and i usually am at 28-30 grams. Sometime I dump a little back. Minimal dust. I also bought the version 1 back in 4/20 2018 and still have a sizable portion. The bag just keeps going. Since its so easy to...

Rather than a 550 fixture why not 12 QB 132 on 3 240 watt drivers. Low cost without heatsinks. I saw HLG had the 4000K qb132 V2 on Amazon for $100 for 4, 132 boards. They sold that deal pretty quick and apparently will be getting more. They still have the regular price though $135 or so.

I don't think its recommended to mix and match boards to a driver. You can add reds to your current setup. QB 11 QB 18. QUOTE="Lund-o, post: 15077358, member: 1002286"]Is it worth upgrading my HLG 600H qb288 v2 3000k to the Rspec? Can they be mixed and matched?

If I were to do a 4x4 I would buy 6 qb288 singles and install 3 on angled aluminum and space them out. have 2 fixtures ( 3 boards each ). Having multiple singles I think is better than a double or triple heatsinks. Use like 2 HLG 320H drivers or 3 HLG 240H C2100. Having 3 drivers allows better...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I had the tinned driver end connected into a molex and it released fine on a few occasions. then one time the tinned edge must have got caught up good in the molex. I really had to pull hard. It finally released with the plastic from the molex dislodged and the tinned end brealkng apart leaving...

I use 18 gauge solid. There is some debate on this but if you use a voltage calculator the voltage drop is minimal at 20'. It is recommended you have a true ground to the fixture and I usually scratch the anodized heatsink a little to ensure it is grounded to any aluminum frame. Perhaps run a...

Have a look as HLG Lighting. There is a "DIY with Quantum Boards" thread here on riu. I too looked and was thinking cobs. Then after checking out "Chilled" I ended up going with HLG. Easy to assemble. They have larger boards qb288, qb132 etc and smaller ones QB96Elite, QB144 ( Cob replacements...

Hey no problem. I learnt this from all the previous users. Some good youtube stuff from Growmou5, LED Gardener ( smart dude ), HLG and some others. It seemed to me HLG was more on the game than other DIY solutions. Good luck and post your build for others to see. Some of these builds are pretty...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I use 7 QB 288 V1 ( LM561B ) in total and 4 QB96elite. It covers a 4x8 tent well. I used to have just 7 QB 288 but added 4 of the elites to complete the footprint. Probably would have got Rspecs if they were available then. On the plus I don,t bump my head any longer on that longer 2 board...

I looked at the fixture on the hlg website. There is a test report link that gives the specs and dimensions. I copied those dimensions to make this less expensive alternative. There are many driver choices I use the 185h 54a per board. So many choices on that front. I run the boards about...

Having those 3 drivers will have slightly less load/amps as well. Check out the datasheets for the drivers. The series "constant current" drivers are more efficient. If you already have a 240h c2100a or a 240h c2100b it will be less expensive to add those 2 drivers. If you have a vision on...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

You could add a second HLG 240H C2100 a/b driver and a HLG 120H 54 a/b for a single board ( I do this ). This will provide redundancy on your set up. From what I have read you can do 5 boards on a HLG 600H 54 a/b, They should be the same version from what I understand.

Thought I would inject some life back into this thread.. @Stephenj37826 I saw your had the QB132 4000k V2 for $100 on Amazon. They were all sold that night. Will you be restocking Amazon or having a sale in the future on these? Being from Canada we get dinged pretty good with duties and...
