    flourine coated scissors

they're generally considered to be the best trimming scissor out there. non spring loaded. not the cheapest shear.

    flourine coated scissors

I have a couple pairs of chikamasa fluorine coated scissors. after one trimming session you can notice areas where the two halves of the scissors meet, the coating is wearing off. I'm worried about flourine ending up in my finished product. does anyone have and insight into this?

    ph won't stay down

thing is its stable with RO water but not with Tap. running about 700ppm at the moment. I'm gonna try adjusting it repeatedly to see if it eventually stabilizes

    ph won't stay down

it just a pain. takes too long to make for the amount I'm using, wastes alot of water, and is a constant hassle. yesterday it slowed to producing only about 4 gallons a day and the filters are only 3 months old. so now I have to tear it all apart and see what's the problem.

    ph won't stay down

it's in a pretty light sealed res with a pump constantly circulating. when using RO water it is pretty stable. I don't use any ph down and it ends up at 6.6 which is kinda high but plants seem to be fine with it. thing is I wanna get away from Ro so it's gonna need the ph dropped.

    ph won't stay down

are there ph down products that work better than others? im currently using GH ph down but anytime I drop the ph of my drain to waste reservoir it will slowly clime back up. I'm currently using RO but I'd like to get off of it and goto just filtered tap water. its about 7.8 starting PH so it...

how much nutrients can I mix at a time

How much nutrients can be mixed up and sitting in a holding tank being circulated around. I've read nutrients only last about a week but does this apply to drain to waste as well seeing as they're not being recirculated?

Help with rockwool drain to waste setup

you're correct in thinking so. just need to water enough to wash the salts away. which is why the medium can't be oversized for the plant cause then it takes too long to dry out between watering.... it's all about a balance between the two.

Help with rockwool drain to waste setup

they're both important. I mean I'm no expert or anything so maybe a long time rockwool user could chime in. but imagine how long a big cube takes to dry out when the plant isn't big enough to drink the water....takes a long time and the roots stay wet longer than is ideal. people tend to water...

Help with rockwool drain to waste setup

that's pretty cool. your setup is pretty awesome. I think the key to rockwool is to progressively match the amount of substrate to the size of the plant.....imagine a tiny plant in an 8 inch block, in order to keep the salts flushed out properly you would have to water it a ton, way more than...

Help with rockwool drain to waste setup

they'll catch up to the size of the cube eventually. maybe just take these other lads advice and feed a little less but keep in mind that small amounts of water could could build up salts so perhaps some flushing would help with that.

Help with rockwool drain to waste setup

too much rockwool for the size of plant... you should be able to water them for even 15 minutes if you wanted. but you'd need less rockwool so it's significantly dryer the next day. That cube would take way too long to dry out with only that tiny plant feeding off of it. that will lead to all...
