    Oh No burnt tips

Check your water / soil PH. I see burnt times after running a higher-then-normal PH, but I work in hydro not soil. Goodluck,

ok to mix nutes before adding to res??

I know with General Hydroponics they recommend you add directly to the water. They also say to add the MICRO first, then add the BLOW / GROW. To help get the prefect PPM I typically make a "roo". I fill my res up without 1 gallon of water. I then mix all the nutes using that 1 gallon left-over...

    Homemade aero/hydroponic's

The design above is good, but I like mine better. I just cut 4' square holes in the side of a bigger 55gal container. It eventually evolves into a DWC / Hydro setup. I also run 3 posts wide rather then 2 with a total of 9 slots. I drop a ton of airstones into the res and it works good. To...

Hurricane is killing me no power

I got the generator fired up and i'm using batteries to power the pumps at "night". I think we'll be ok. Still no power and the planets arn't getting a full 12. Anyone think it will be a problem if the planets only get like 8 ~ 10 hours of light instead of 12? Just for a few more days until the...

Hurricane is killing me no power

To answer everyone at once. 1.) We're fine. We're in Ohio not Texas. We got 60+ MPH wind and no one is here to fix it. 2.) Every generator and power line crew was sent south to Texas. 3.) Its a custom built aero system which cannot be physically removed from the room its in. Trust me. This...

Hurricane is killing me no power

I've been without power for almost 24 hours. My girls are 5 weeks into flowering in a homemade airoponic system. I've been running the air and water pumps on a batteries 50% of the time to keep things wet without using all my power. How many days do you think i'll be able to last without light...

    nutrient question

I pay ~$15 per quart for GH stuff at a retail store. It depends on the size of your operation I guess, but a quart goes a long way for me. General Hydro Flora Gro 1 quart Here is a link to a very cheap source I just found using Google. This is just the 1 part, but the rest are about the same...

    nutrient question

There are some one-part solutions, but I don't think the three part solutions are very tricky. If you are serious about growing /w hydroponics I think its worth investing the time to learn. Just follow the instructions and you'll get decent results. For example General Hydroponics calls for 3...

    Nutrients?

General Hydroponics seems to do a good job of balancing the PH on its own. I will have to check out Holland's Secret and report back my findings.

    Nutrients?

I'd recommend starting with General Hydroponics Grow, Micro, Bloom (liquid). I only use distilled or reverse osmosis water. Check the PH and EC / PPM daily using a real meter . I also recommend a pitch of Epson salt (like 1/4 teaspoon per gallon). You should be able to find a feeding schedule...

    Nutrients?

I recommend General Hydroponics for beginners. It seems to do a good job and doesn't cost very much. There is also plenty of information available as its seems to be a common brand. Goodluck

    Plant too big

I am making some major headway on my aero grow, infact its turned into a HUGE problem. I have a mother who has grow out of control. Because of my personal schedule I won't be able to make clones until late May. Should I just kill the planet and start on a better schuedule? should I keep the...

    Aero Questions.

pump runs 24/7. In fact its a big deal if the pump stops for any extended period of time so consider a UPS for your pumps.

    Computer fans

The fans say the power rating. You just need to hook up a power source to match. Example 1A 12V just find a matching DC adapter (old RC car maybe?) and cut and splice the wires together. Simple and probably won't cost very much.

    Seedling Red / Not Growing

We flushed them out good last night as they all needed water. We'll be watching closely over the next few days to determine if they will come back around or not. Will keep you posted.

    Seedling Red / Not Growing

Well we're not watering every day. We have a moisture meter and only do it when they need it. We also only nute every other time, so they really only get nuted 1 /week or less.We ph our water and soil also, and that all has been fine. We're going to switch to a new kind of nutes and get them...

    Seedling Red / Not Growing

Thanks for all your input. I normally run water / nute / water / nute. I am going to give the plants a nice flush out and see if that helps. Do you think that switching from a grow nute to something more generic (like jack's classic 20-20-20) might help? Thanks, Dustin

    Seedling Red / Not Growing

To answer your questions: 1. We are using tap water which has sat out at least 24 hours. We also PH all water 6.5~6.0 2. We are using foxfarms happy frog soil. We added 50% paralite when we re-potted. 3. We added the nutes thinking we missed something along the way. Clearly the plants need...
