Looks like they've had that website for almost exactly one year. No Better Business Bureau complaints. Niche Webstores, Inc. appears to be the main company, and have an A- rating on bbb.org.

Fox Farm Growers please, Nutes advice with Ocean Forest/BIG BLOOM/TIGER BLOOM/BG

I had that problem before. My water is around 8.0, and I still use pH up when all the nutes are added just to get it up to 6.8 ish. I use the 8.0 water for watering only, then I get the water to 6.8 when I fertilize. This keeps everything just right so far. I did have my pH drop down to 5.5...

    Ocean Forest soil

You can have issues with any nutes. Plants can react differently, just as there are many strains and requirements. The best way is to start off at 1/4 to 1/2 strength, and work your way up. I don't even get to full strength until after flowering starts. I flush my soil a little before adding...

looking for 2 600w hps systems

I'd stick with Lumatek or Galaxy Digital ballasts myself. Digilux bulbs are the only way to go with the electronic ballasts. Get 2 of these: http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/lumatek-600w-120v240v-hpsmh-electronic-ballast-p-2107.html Or, 1 of this...

Has anyone gotten warranty service from Vortex fan?

Right, I know, but it chapped my hide a little. Ok, I'm moving on to greener pastures now. $150 fan isn't worth any more hassle. Good luck Vortex.

Has anyone gotten warranty service from Vortex fan?

Vortex had a good rep, some of which was placed in these forums. I think you really find out how good a company is by how they act on returns and warranty service. This distinguishes them from the rest.

Has anyone gotten warranty service from Vortex fan?

They email back with simple instructions about taking it back to place of purchase, but haven't responded after I called bull, and that I wanted them to handle their own warranty. Anyway, has anyone else had to do any kind of warranty claim with Vortex? They say it's a 10 year MANUFACTURER...

    Lumatek or Galaxy

Maybe they stopped selling Lumatek's because they couldn't make a profit on them, since they are so well made. Most places laugh at the competition only because it's the competition. As soon as they started selling them, their attitude's would quickly change. Sounds like a bunch of children work...

    Fox farm ocean forest soil

I use Ocean Forest straight up, nothing added. Doesn't seem to need anything else. I water every three days until the water comes out the bottom. I have low humidity, sometimes 0%. Does perlite help the roots get more oxygen? Because it's not needed for water retention with Ocean Forest. That...

    16% humidity?

I get down to 0% humidity some times, and quite frankly, I don't notice a bit of difference. Just keep everything normal for nutes and water. I water every three days or when the containers are very light. Plus, they'll tell you if they're thirsty.

    WTF do i need?

You can always get a 150W HPS complete system for around $70+ shipping. Not the brightest, but better than CFL IMHO. You CAN use an HPS all the way through, since money is an issue. I think there's a 150 Watt club thread around here somewhere so you can read about others with the 150W and their...

    Opinions on Digital Ballasts

Sounds like you had a bad first experience with electronic ballasts. What's the brand of the ballast and the brand of the bulb? Most bulbs aren't 100% compatible with electronic ballasts yet, but electronic ballast specific bulbs are showing up finally. I'm sure there are people who stuck with...

    Opinions on Digital Ballasts

Just saw some videos on youtube comparing Hortilux and Digilux bulbs on a digital ballast. Seems that Digilux kicks some major butt on Hortilux on digital ballasts. purpple, not seeing where Digilux bulbs are so bad, on the contrary, they seem to be the best bulb to buy for a digital ballast...

Does Anyone Know The Color Temperature Of Digilux MH bulbs? looking at 600Watt

There's some videos on youtube that compares the Hortilux and Digilux on a digital ballast, and the Digilux kicks some major butt. Atleast on digital (electronic) ballasts.

    Opinions on Digital Ballasts

I've heard that Lumatek had an RF problem at first, but solved it years ago before their purple colored ballasts were even released. The 600W Lumatek has the Hortilux bulb problem. All the other sizes work great with them. This I know personally about the 400W working with the Hortilux bulb...

    Lighting question

More light is generally better, as long as heat is not an issue. Also, it depends on how many plants you have. 100 Watts per plant seems to be a somewhat accepted amount. If you have 2 plants, you're good to go with the 250W. 4 plants, a 400W, etc. Dual spectrum is the best way to go according...
