Do You Use Mychorazia In DWC?

I think that most people doing DWC prefer to keep their systems sterile. A lot of people use products like h2o2, watermax, zone etc which all kill beneficial bacteria as well as pythium etc. There is no reason not to use myco with a dwc system, but to me, I think it is best left to a medium...

RW cube questions for the pros.

I have always used rockwool with 100% success rates with seeds and clones alike. You want guaranteed seed germ with no chance of screw up. Here it is: Soak your seeds in a glass of water (float or sink, doesn't matter) for 24 hours (either plain water or 300ppm nutrients). Soak rockwool for...

So many questions... so little time.

Muffy D Thanks for the input. Trying to gather some knowledge on coco, I really appreciate it. Paradox Yes, 7 days is adequate, possibly more than I need. You read that I have 45 plants in a 6x3 area right? That is OVER 2 plants per square foot! I would actually be just fine with NO veg...

Why do people grow their plants so small?

I would have to disagree with you 100% Age of the plant has nothing to do with THC content. Not at all. In fact, the few larger buds your plant produces are more than likely going to be of HIGHER quality than a larger plant with many more bud sites, some of which will be shaded and not get good...

So many questions... so little time.

I have a lot of questions, so I will try to break it down so they are easy to answer.... This is going to be a run to waste system for the fact that I cannot seem to keep a reservoir clean and healthy for more than a couple of days! Here we go! 1. Pots. I am going to have 45 clones in a 6x3...

    Stinky, Cloudy Reservoir water...

That is exactly what I am trying to do here. Using the lucas formula, but my water keeps getting messed up. When your water drops in ppm and you want it to be brought back up to 1000ppm, do you add nutes directly to the res or mix in a seperate container?

    Stinky, Cloudy Reservoir water...

Nope... No slime, the plants had only been in for a few days the fist time it happened, so I don't think root rot was a factor.

    Stinky, Cloudy Reservoir water...

wafflehouse >have you clean your hydroton clayballs thoroughly? Yes, I have cleaned the hydroton better this time than I ever have in the past. I spent a lot of time cleaning it through a strainer (plus it was brand new out of the bag, not re-used). I used the flora series on the last e&f and...

    Stinky, Cloudy Reservoir water...

wafflehouselover >Do you think maybe your 1part nutrient is contaminated? This is my second attempt at the ebb n flow, first time I used GH flora series micro/bloom and the SAME thing happened. This is why I purchased an RO filter etc... potroast >isn't that a powdered nute? No, it is a...

    Stinky, Cloudy Reservoir water...

I don't blame you for not reading the long first post... but "Water has never been over 72 degrees". Well, I have run h202 through the res and the smell has completely gone away which is good.... The water is still a bit cloudy. What does water look like when it has flora nova in it? Anyone got...

    Stinky, Cloudy Reservoir water...

Well, my res is pretty much light tight except for the fact that it is WHITE. I was told that the light isn't causing my problem... The guy at my hydroshop uses all white res's in the showroom and his water sits in there forever without getting cloudy/smelly... But yes, I imagine there is...

    Stinky, Cloudy Reservoir water...

"do you add nutes before you add water?" It is a one part nutrient, no mixing needed until it hits the water... "it's parts per gallon not gallons per res" Don't know what you mean by this... 1) how much nutes are you adding per gallon? I am asking this to determine if you are adding too...

    Stinky, Cloudy Reservoir water...

Hello folks. I am trying to get a fix for a problem I have been having. Using lucas formula floranova bloom in an ebb n flow system, 70 gallon res, RO water, etc... I will get right to the point. After adding nutes to my water, within a day or two my res stinks, and becomes kind of cloudy...

Adding air to ebb n flow res?

I accidently screwed with my tds meter and I don't know what to set the beta to. The hanna meter has ATC (automatic temperature compensation coefficient) which I don't know what to set it to, 0.0 to 2.4. Damnit, I don't know how to reset it or anything. Can you give some advice?

Adding air to ebb n flow res?

I will get you the timing on my flood and drain soon... So you say NEVER flood when lights are off? Hydroton doesn't really hold much water at all... so that means the roots stay dry for 12 hours straight... Won't the plants die if the roots dry for that long? With oscilating fans etc still...

Adding air to ebb n flow res?

Alright, and it is a pretty quiet pump? I assume you are doing the same thing as me if flooding every 2 hours. My plants are directly in hydroton, no other medium. No rockwool cubes or anything, straight out of the bubble cloner into the hydroton. You think every 2 hours is ok? You do this...

Adding air to ebb n flow res?

Thanks for the info... I am just debating putting the air in there... I have a four outlet pump, which is a bit loud which I don't like... Maybe go purchase a cheap single or dual pump that operates quietly. I know I will get air into my water when it drains back into the res. I might not...

Adding air to ebb n flow res?

Air pump with Ebb n Flow... I am just getting my new ebb n flow table setup and I am wondering... Is is necessary to use an air pump to keep my resivoir oxygenated? I am using RO water, 70 gallon res, lucas formula with flora nova. I have a four outlet pump that I can use to pump some air...
