IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Hey man! Thanks for the answer! I was sure there must be someone here using generics :b I've just scoured so many pages already I thought I'd better ask :) I guess I'll be buying some drivers and such now then! :D

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Hello! Long time since I've been active at this forum! I'm looking at adding some COBs to my current grow tent. Right now I have two custom LED lights (about 80 w and 30 w) that I made a few years back, this was before the dawn of COBs apparently :) anyway, I'm pulling about 100g per harvest...

    DIY LED REVOLUTION/EVOLUTION! INTRODUCING MEvo

 Very good JubiARE!! That soldering took ages right? ;) what did you use to attach the LED's to the MCPCB's? What are the temps of the tube? And what did you pay for the setup? Hope you get an awesome haul! :D Peace <3

    New project! Led PC-growcase!

Thanks :D I'm just getting started, seems you have quite a bit more knowledge than me :b The drivers are unfortunately some cheap Chinese drivers I got some time ago over Dealextreme.. So nothing fancy can be done with those :b When they stop working (probably much sooner than the LED's) I'll...

    New project! Led PC-growcase!

Thanks man :) So I've been running the system for 45 minutes, and the case-top is still touchable (roughly 40 degrees celcius) Which is just awesome! :D this means that with the ledengin leds, I can most likely just keep a computer fan blowing to keep them cool :) Does anyone know roughly how...

    New project! Led PC-growcase!

I just wanted to show you the progress I've made so far! :) PC case: What I've done here is remove that big chunk that normaly holds the CD-drives and what not, and any other unnecessary things that were in the way :), what I'm planning to do is cover up all holes to prevent light from...

    New project! Led PC-growcase!

Thanks man :D As for doing this with LED strips, I really cannot recommend it (as far as i've read) since most strips use diodes with roughly 0.1-0.2 watts each at max. This means you'd have to fill your entire PC case's wall with those strips before it's be effective. In addition, those LED's...

    New project! Led PC-growcase!

Hello guys and stoners! A little update with some info on the XML led's :) I have 5 of them running at 2000mA each, so they should be drawing roughly 30 watts :) (maybe 33-34 in total because of power lost in the driver) some info on them here The XLamp XM-L LED is the industry’s highest...

    New project! Led PC-growcase!

Hello RIU! I've been inactive for a while (moved to an apartment rather than a house) and couldn't really get growing. As a matter of fact a police(wo)man lives in the apartment across from me lol... But to the real ordeal! I've had plans for a while to make a stealth growbox, with some DIY led...

    DIY Veg Light Build

Hey man, heat sinks aren't measured in grams of material, It is surface area that counts.. as well as thermal conductivity ofc course, aluminium is the cheapest heat sink material you can get.. Search knna's thread for more info on diy leds

    LEDs in PC case?

Or you could go to DX and buy some diodes and termal glue and drivers for the LEDS and make a DIY setup :) I'm thinking of doing that my self :) It's pretty easy tbh.. And it'll cost you from 1$ per watt used (a bit more including the drivers)

    power scheme

It clearly says L and N? And it shouldn't be a trouble if they get switched around, but I'm not sure.. So, power (the one you shouldn't touch) in L, and the other cable in N

    Closed refrigerator grow?

Hello RIU! :) My question is simple, would it be possible to do a closed (with CO2'n'shit) refrigerator grow? The reason I'm asking is because it would probably be the most smellyproof grow space evah! :D Also, if the fridge is functional, could it be used for cooling? (setting up a thermostat...

new to led's, any advice for my flower room?

I would personally get three/four diamond series 100 w LED's on each 3' by 8' or three 200 watt's for optimal coverage.. But this means you'd need 3 big ones for the lights.. Not sure how much you'd like to pay :b

steer me in the right direction

Maybe try the diamond series LED's, as they are newer, they most likely have more efficient LED's. Also the PG lights have a tad too much white in them for my taste. http://www.advancedledlights.com/3w-led-grow-lights/new-diamond-series-leds-extreme-3w-led-technology/
