    Long slow drying questions...

I appreciate the drying tips and will try to go for a longer dry period. I normally dry in my basement but, since I chopped down several trees in my yard, my basement is flooded with light in the afternoons. How dark do I need my drying area to be? I have used my laundry room (which stays dark...

    Which pot size

My experience with seedlings going into big pots is that the medium remains wet since there isn't enough plant to draw water from the soil- resulting in soggy roots and stunted growth or root rot. I normally plant my seedlings in a 8oz cup; after 4-6 weeks to a 1/2 gallon pot and after a final...

Harvest time determination- Hairs or Trichomes?

I never thought to use the squeeze test- I did last night and the "red hair" plant buds are a lot firmer than the other plants. (Don't worry- I didn't squeeze too hard, just enough for resistance.) I will harvest those two when I get home this afternoon. No need to stagger- I clipped the plants...

Harvest time determination- Hairs or Trichomes?

Harvest time is coming for my five outdoor ladies- I have been monitoring trichomes e/o day for the past two weeks. On two plants (one is a clone of the other) about 1/3 of trichomes are cloudy, on two others (seeds from the same bag) about 2/3 cloudy & have only have seen 1 amber trichome...

    Really need a help!

I know from too much experience- your plants are under-nourished. For several years I would add nutrients to water every other week and, come mid-August, start having leaf drop. My guru in Colorado told to feed weekly- the last two seasons I have not had yellowing leaves! As suggested above...

    Too late to transplant?

I did the transplant last Friday afternoon (same day I posted the pics above). Root balls were pretty tight- one plant in particular was more roots than soil. All were transplanted into #7 buckets (a little more than six gallons)- in grows past I used 7 gallon fabric pots but I got a delivery of...

    Too late to transplant?

My bad- closer to two feet high (I forgot I had them on a riser when I measured...) I will post some pics later today. Thanks for all the replies!

    Too late to transplant?

My plants are just starting to flower- but they are still in their 2 qt starter pots. I haven't had the chance yet to move them into a 6 gallon (volume) bucket. Roots currently are starting to grow out of the bottom of their pots. They were topped at the end of May; each lady is just under 3...

    Where to check

Trichomes look cloudy to me- you are close but wait until you start seeing some amber color; maybe 1 -2 more weeks more but not now.

THC Snow- don't want to mess up the harvest time

Through human error, seed gender selection, and drought my initial crop of six plants is down to one- THC Snow (and I lost 1/3 of it due to a drought-caused wilt). I guess I started it late because the plant did not start flowering until Sept 5; today (Oct 24) is Day 49 of the flowering period...

    Just Flushed- now what?

Probably not sun bleaching- I only get about 4 hours of direct sunlight/day, everything else is filtered light through a high/thin canopy of pine trees. Now that I think of it (and this same problem happens every year come late July) could it be not enough light? The plants are very vigorous in...

    Just Flushed- now what?

The plant behind is an Akuba plant (it's a privacy hedge for my little grow area), that is the way it normally looks. Newest growth looks healthy, just concerned how high up the leaves are yellowing. We are having a hot dry summer and the container is noticeable lighter only two days after...

Are you in BLOOM Yet? Tis the month!

My location is NW Georgia: Plant 1 (bag seed strain that I topped it at the sixth node in late May and it is still over 7 ft/2 m tall) germinated March 29, started flowering last week (appox Aug 5) Plant 2 (Strain: Snow from MSNL) germinated Apr 15, is currently in preflower: My...

    Just Flushed- now what?

A few weeks back I posted a thread (https://www.rollitup.org/t/what-mineral-is-deficient.914903/); the reply was that I was probably under feeding. I am growing in a Promix BX (General Purpose) medium in a 10 gallon cloth container; I was feeding with Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow 3-2-4 every...

    Ist Time Auto Flower

No- all of my plants are female, I purge the males as soon as they show. I still have about 20 seeds from the last couple of years that I will be using in the near future. I have not tried to make seeds yet- maybe in the future. I purchased feminized seeds this year; the seed company threw in...

    Ist Time Auto Flower

A quick post mortem on the first grow: The plants never grew large, both ended up around 1 1/2 foot tall. Combined yield between the two was only 10 grams (after stems removed), very little root development with the plants. Still, the buzz from both is pretty good though one might have gone a...

Do they look fine ? First outdoor grow

I agree with Greenpitking- consider transplanting to larger pot (at least 5 gallon, I use 10 gallon, some use up to 200 gallon but that might be too much for a first timer. Good luck & enjoy!

    What mineral is deficient?

I have this problem with yellowing leaves every year- usually after flowering when I switch nutes but this year it started early. Conditions: Medium- Promix BX (General Purpose) Nute- Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow 3-2-4 Feeding Cycle: Every 2 weeks Soil pH: 6.5 (tested today) Plant Pictures...

    Cause for concern?

I would try to keep as many leaves going as possible and only trim lower branches if the thick foliage was causing mold problems due to lack or air circulation. Popcorn growth should not inhibit bud/cola growth (at least in my experience)
