have a small closet grow, and was wondering whether a reflector is useful if the closet is covered with mylar?

asked the electrician, but got no reply, so i'll ask here. i have an xtrasun convertible 400w ballast that i have been using for 4yrs. now, and the buzzing seems to be getting louder. i'm wondering which part/s are going bad and if i can replace said part/s, all replies welcomed. thanks, armand
