you're thinking this too much also ........... is annoying try to get a 400w mh bulb for veg and 600w hps for flower, you can buy one of those digital ballasts that does both and that you can set the wattage, easy to find don,t use autos if you can avoid it, use a regular feminized seed...

that's what I was talking about. I'm in week 4 flower (of 8-9) and I spent the last two weeks removing a shit ton of side shoots that wont go anywhere. I don't have time to wait three extra weeks after harvest to let them develop, and I'd rather the plant focus the energy on top. Besides, light...

you can keep the fan leaves but remove the crap flowering spots where you know it wont develop?

My question is, once you start flower you get all these side branches that have limited potential, where do you guys draw the line on what to prune and what to keep? One one hand you want your main colas to get most of the plants attention, on the other hand, more branches mean more flowers

the sure to grow seems super expensive, I'd order it online, big coco chips seem like a decent alternative. I don't know too much about coco I'll to do a lot more reading. Thanks guys

I agree about the root crushing, I'm leaving heavily towards the sure to grow pellets, they're kind of expensive, but I don't really care at this point. Can't get more inert than foam I guess... plus no crushing risk
