just curiouse for people growing how people get cought?

I have a friend out here (college town) that has been growing a while just for personal use he used to use a 400 watt CFL grow light and just bought this 1000 watt MH/ HPS light he is about to use with a 94 watt blower fan to ventilate the light. Im just curious if that change in electricity is noticable on the electric bill and if they look out for that also can they fly by and measure the heat anything he shouold be worried about???? in a 5x3x7 room

Nah, you won't get caught from fly overs or change in electric bill from 1000 watts.

only one who will notice the power change is him on his bill elec companies dont care about power they care about money

on a 12/12 light cycle my electric bill went up $230 a month with 1000 watt hps it is noticeable to you but not the elec co money is all they want

They won't notice 1000 watt. A space heater uses around 600.

You guys a wrong however that the power company "just wants money" They monitor usage rates. With 5-6 1,000k bulbs, your not going to ring any bells. But when you have a house that's using 30,000KWH a month (which is about 30 times the average use) you bet your ass they will notice.

Take it from someone that has seen the po-po bash my friends door down with a battering ram.

So are you saying he got busted because the Power company saw a surge in power and called the cops on him? Please explain further I am curious.
