1000w de cmh bulb in 1000w gavita hps fixture.

I recently came across another guy in the biz that uses cmh bulbs in his 1000w de gavita fixtures. The blue spectrum really interests me. The light seemed to be working well. But im scared it may be a fore hazard

Just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience using a cmh bulb in a gavita fixture or any other fixutre over time.

I can't help you with your question, but I'd be curious to hear from people who've run both 1000w CMH DE and 1000w HPS DE and their thoughts on any differences in production, quality, etc too. From what I've read, the square wave ballast is important for running these things safely and optimally long term, but I'm no expert.

They probably make conversion bulbs, I run a couple of 600w CMH conversion bulbs in my 400v 600w ballasts. I think only works on the 400v ballasts. Horti-Vision is the brand from memory.
