1000w HPS vent QUESTIONS

will 2 of these be good enough to vent 1000w HPS in a 3x3x7 tent i also have 2 other computer fans i can use to vent the tent ??? PLEASE HELP

short answer, no, not even close. in fact that fan might melt. whoever sold you 1000W for a 3x3 space was a dick because a 6" inline fan will probably still leave the tent to hot but an 8" inline fan will suck that thing closed so hard it might break the tent. (no joke) anyway you need INLINE FANS, what you have their is a BOOSTER FAN. as far as the pc fans go they should stay where they belong.... in the pc.

if its at all possible, take that 1000w back to the store (providing you didn't buy it online because then you're fucked) and exchange for a 600w. use the extra funds you get back to buy the 6" inline fan. btw this is why you should be buying stuff from a physical store and not online. a good and reputable store employee would have prevented this situation and gotten him the correct light in the first place.

yaa i got it on craigslist for $90 (hood,ballast,bulb)..seemed to good to let it pass. Im prob gunna get a 400w ballast and bulb for $60 and just swap it out cause i still have the hood. then just resell the 1000w ballast and bulb..cause it doesnt seem possible like u said to keep the temp below 80F..thanks man

resell the 1000w, you'll probably make money on that deal actually, good for you, but go for the 600w instead of the 400w. the reason i say this is because the 600 is expandable meaning you can just add another, then another, then another if you want withough ever having to change wattages again. it's also the most effecient in lumens/watt, just as easy to cool as a 400w, resale value is better, bulb and ballast selection are better, higher yields, gretaer penetration and the initial price should be within $30-40 of a 400w.

always always go at least 600w.

well wud i need an aircooled hood for tht 600w..im trying to avoid spending so much money in ventilation those inline fans can be upwards of $100+. im looking to get away with 2 of those fans in the first post. and im not sure a 600w wud allow tht..or wud a 400w even stay cool?

any HID even a 250w in a tent will require a real inline fan to cool, otherwise you will be doomed to 80+ degree temps. i know it stings spending the money but you only have to buy it once. ask your local shop if they have any used equipment. used inline fans are always a good buy.

ok bro. im gunna buy the damn fan lol i do wanna do this right but im def. down grading to atleast a 600w, 1000w is too much for what im tryna do. friday is the day...thanks for the imput
