1st mumma... small buds wtf?!

i got some seeds a few months back off the net, got one in paticular going real good. huge and bushing out now but today i notice little tiny freakin buds... i got my lights timed to 18hours a day and have this whole time. why are there little buds beginning to form? does this mean its a damn male........?:-(

(i have built a cabinet with mylar lined walls and am growing it in soil watering manually daily. the very bottom leaves are deadish yellowish and the top of the stock is redish .. have i been overwatering and is the reddish stress? )

my goal is for it to be the plant i take cuttings off of.


so i took a couple pictures, its evening here though and i only got a webcam with a lamp for light so i tried to use a flashlight to help show u. i outlined the spots they are popping up on the plan and got one close up of one. hopefully u can tell but i understand the poor quality as being the reason if u cant and will try for better ones tomorrow if need be. now lets see if i did this right and u can see em or not... here goes..

you shouldnt water daily. herb likes it when its dried out before re-watering. not too much but if your pots feel light, water 'em. thats what i've always heard. and yea pics would help to determine whether its a male or female. if thats not possible, do the little buds look like little banana shaped ballsacks? or little white hairs? or both?

Those are preflowers. It's just showing its sex. Now is a fair time to switch to 12/12. Unless those are pollen sacks and hence males. Wait to see little white hairs come out of them - these are females.
