1st Time Grower Alert - Super Silver Haze using Hempy Bucket, Please Help!

I'm completely out of my element, though I'm enjoying the ride, well sort of.
I just really want some nice gear to enjoy.

Could someone please take a look at these pics and let me know if my seedling looks okay in my Hempy Bucket, to me it looks a little lighter shade of green to what I think it should be and has a couple of little dots in the leaves - is this normal?.
I'm using 60% Perlite & 40% Vermiculite in a 15L bucket. I've been using Distilled water from the beginning and using pH down to bring it down between 5.8-6.2.

Today I accidentally used Distilled water that had not been pH down'd and I'm worried I could have done damage. I've tried to use the correct pH water to flush it out, though the pH is coming back at 7.0 and I don't want to overwater, if thats possible in a Hempy. I haven't used any nutes at this stage as this seedling is just producing it's 2nd set of real leaves.

Please Help.

If it was me, I'd let it go for a few days and see what happens.

Thanks Guys, can't wait until this newbie phase has disappered, it's the constant questioning whether I'm doing good or bad for the little ones 8)

Just 24hours later and the yellow spots on the first true leaves have spread a little more.

Is this a result of my bad in giving not ph treated water to my babies?
Do I need to do anything?

Okay and the saga continues, I'm starting to get worried.

Someone please tell me if any of the following are possible causes.

1. Exposing the little one to pH 7+ distilled water.
2. Overwatering while trying to flush the high pH with the correct pH distilled water.
3. Too much/too little light.
4. or do I have to start giving nutes, even though it's only on it's 2nd set of leaves.

This is becoming urgent and I'm worried I might lose this one.

dont use any nutes yet they are still seedlings

how often do you water it??

Because when I test the distilled water on a new bottle, it's showing as pH of 7.0, so I try to bring it down between 5.8-6.2.
The reason is use distilled is to try and keep everything bacteria/salt free, my tap water on testing is also a high pH of 7.0 and would need treating anyway.

Okay, I'm holding off and allowing the little one to recover, before nutes, however I wouldn't be suprised if the tap root has almost made it to the Hempy reservoir, it can't be far off, unless the over watering slowed it down.

Every 2 days, though I haven't watered it since I tried to correct my stuff up on Friday, so it's now 3 days, I want the Perlite/Vermiculite to dry a little.

I think my other prob is the mix, it's a bag with 60% Perlite and 40% Vermiculite, my newbie senses are saying the Verminculite is retaining lots of water and my watering was too often.

Currently the bottom leaves that were yellowing are mostly yellow and sick looking, however they are still sitting up and not showing a lack of water. The new leaves coming through are taking a while, though they look green, just light green and seem to be coming from different angles, just not as long as the bottom leaves.

FEED! That's a deficiency. Probably phosphorus. Try tap water first. If you don't see improvement immediately (24-36hrs) start to feed VERY weak nute solution. Maybe 15% strength. Only once, then go with tap water for a few days. Distilled is good for initial germination but tap has lots of nutes in it. Primarily Cal/mag and lotsa micronutes. Definitely let the water sit for a day or so to evaporate the excess chlorine. A bubbler would accelerate this process.
Hope this helps,
Fred

Even though the new leaves are not yellowing, they are just light green???

If you say so man, I'll go for it and start them on tap water which I'll need to pH. Should I still wait for the Perlite/Vermiculite to dry out a bit more before doing this? It has been a bit damp?

The yellow spots that keep growing are the sign of deficiency. They'll soon turn brown (the spots) and die off. Well, light green is a sign of nitrogen def, but that doesn't look to be the case here.
Usually a seed wont need nutes till 2 weeks old, in my garden anyway. But I use tap water.

Hey I just want to thank you for your help, along with everyone else.
I've decided to go with some nutes and see what happens using tap water pH'd to 6.0

I'll report back and hopefully with some pics of a revitalised seedling.
