First let me say thanks or all of the help that is available on this messge board. This is truly the most helpul community I have found on the subject of growing mj.
I was reaing through widowmaker's "how to grow marijuana" thread and I realized I must be misinformed. Usually when I look at seed websites they say 60 days (or so) til flowering. I assumed that meant that was the amount of time it takes to get the harvest. But after reading the how to thread I am wondering what te actual times are. His thread said about 4 weeks of veg and about 70 days of flowering til harvest. Is this accurate? I'm talking ballpark figures here for a non autoflowering plant like white rhino or New York Power Diesel.
The second question deals with lighting. I plan to use the trash can method, or possibly a small grow box. I am debating over lights to choose. At the moment cost is not my biggest concern as I plan on doing this continually and see it as a way to save money by not having to buy my stash anymore.
The big concern for me is heat. I am growing in an attic and it will be plenty hot this summer 100+ degrees at times. My garage gets to be 90 degrees so I can only imagine the temps in the attic. With that said I am considering cfls for their low heat qualities, however I don't want to sacrifice quality. Do cfls muster enough light to grow dank buds? I have read threads that discuss the differences but I haven't seen anyhing specifically regarding finished quality of the buds. Also,when using cfls is there a special type I should buy and how many per plan should i use.
