3 week old plant does it have potential?

Check out the pics.. I started germinating this plant 3 weeks ago. From what I have seen on some youtube vids of other 3 week old plants it is looking extremely premature. Do you guys think this plant still has potential if it turns out to be female?
Question: Why did the 1st and 2nd real set of leaves turn yellow at the tip?
Thanks guys this is obviously my first plant excluding my first female that got eaten (it was budding too =(
Also any tips you guys have would be more than appreciated!
EDIT: I am currently only using one 16w 1200k CFL bulb which is 2 inches way from the top of the plant.

can't help you out much without more specifics on your grow - amount of light in particular. your yield will go up directly with the amount of light. double the light and double the yield. your slow growth is probably due to too little light compared to other grows you've seen. from the pic it looks like your soil has a lot of bark in it - that can make the soil too acidic. also, garden soil should be mixed with perlite or sand to help it drain better.

Everything sound good in the lighting,but I would watch how much water I feed it at a time. When they are seedlings like that I would water when the soil on top looks dry.

Thanks for the replies.. is it mandatory that I mix the soil with sand? I have not done that and don't have sand on hand atm. Also should I take some of the bark out with my hand or just leave it?

not mandatory, but highly advised. you'll need to repot when the plant gets bigger anyway, so its really no big deal. and no, you're stuck with the bark. if you plan on making growing a regular hobby then i'd buy a $10 ph meter and do a little reading here about ph. you could probably get your plant to grow in any soil, it's a weed for god's sake. but cultivators have found that using soil that drains well gives the plants the access to oxygen for its roots, strengthening the whole root structure - key for getting a big, healthy plant.

When I started I had the light further away than 2 inches I had it at like 6 so I'm hoping that's why it was growing slower than usual. Can anyone tell me why the tips of the 1st and 2nd set of leaves were turning brown/yellow? The soil is damp so it doesn't need watering or anything.

is ur soil organic??? it might be nute burn from the nutrients in ur soil

It should be fine though right? With my single 16w 1200k CFL should I have it 2 inches away from the plant at all time or is that too close?

hey im using 2 40W 6500k bulbs! mine are at 1 week 4 days.. ( its about 3 inches away) Got alittle burnt second day outta the ground.. light support broke!! and burned the leaves. but there coming back!!

Oh man that sucks it did some damage but it shouldn't be enough to kill it. Is that bagseed or what? I'm using some schwag bagseed.

You guys think this lighting will be fine?

It might be fine for now, but you need at least 2k lumens to support growth. Trust me, I've tried to grow with one bulb before and it just did not work. You will need more light. I don't think that using MG for soil is a big deal. I've grown a couple of crops using various MG products and always had decent results. If you are hard up for cash, can't buy a hydro system, or don't have good soil in your area, MG is fine. Just FYI, you'll need a bigger space than what you've got right now. Look into getting a 68w 2700k CFL for flowering, they are available at home depot and lowes for $15.

Alright man so the bulb I have now and another single 68w 2700k bulb will do for flowering? I can hopefully get that tomorrow and put that on immediately which should actually help it grow correct?
EDIT: I going to try to go to Home Depot tomorrow and buy a 68w 4200 lumen bulb. Those two combined would be perfect growing one plant?

I'm going to put this one out in the sun everyday it is sunny, when it rains I'll bring (hopefully her) in under the bulb..

they should turn out fine! put them outside for like couple hours each day if its nice!! the sun does wonders!

get more bulbs, use some 'y' spliters. angle the cfl's to give some side light.
maybe this'll lend some encouragement..

hi, shouldnt the kelvin be 6500k for veg and 2700k for flowering, myt that not be the problem? im not trying to sound like a pro or sum shit cuz im not. but ive heard pros say that.
