400 watt MH to flower? Will it work?

I have a 400Watt MH lamp? Will it mess up my plant? I have hurd it will only make my buds tighter?

it will work but it no where near as good as hps, mh has blue spec and no red, red is the main use of lite in flower...

Just buy a 400w HPS convertion lamp

Yeah if you could swing the cash, a conversion lamp would be the cats meow. Then you would have both spectrums covered.

Is this conversion thing really expensive? And it is wired for 270 not 400 but i will switch that depending on the amount of pants.. Good idea, bad idea?

They are much cheaper than buying two seprate lights. But if u already have an MH there is no point in purchasing a conversion hps mh. Un less u want to run two lights at the same time.

What does this mean? Sounds like your talking about a multi-tap ballast that can be wired for different input voltages. I say that because I've never heard of a ballast than can be wired differently to adapt to different wattages.
