Hey all
I've been reading up for a while and I am planning a grow in the near future. I need some help from experienced SCROG and/or cabinet growers. From the space/funds I have available I decided to go with:
LIGHT: 400w HPS Cool tubed/digital remote balast (Flower) and 4 CFL lights for Veg/Mother/Clones
Ventilation: 454cfm In-Line Growbright 6" fan for general air circulation/scrubber exhaust that's on 24/7 and a 6" 250cfm duct fan that vents the enclosed cool tube and duct work (on 12/12). Oscillating fans will be added at a later time
Hydro: 2x DIY Ebb/Flow for both Mom Veg/Clones and Flower SCROG
10g container/10g res for Veg/Clones and 10g container/18g res for Flower. 2 water pump/fittings on digital timer for nutrients. DIY aquarium air stones (6" for Veg/Clone res, 12" for flower res) on digital timer to come on 5minutes before ebb/flow. Medium will be Hydrocoton, clones started in rapidrooter.
I plan to have about 6 going in the Flower room with 2 Mothers/?? clones going in the other chamber.
Nutrients: GH most likely, but not decided yet.
LET THE QUESTIONS BEGIN LOL:
1) For you cabinet growers, if your setup is similar, how much amps do you run to power all this sheot? - I know your stuff is all different, but generally speaking
2) Ebb/Flow, how is the timer set? (depending on size pump and how long it takes to fill res to required levels) TO come on for xxxx minutes every xxxx hours.
3) With the electronics housed under the Veg/Clone area, should I worry about possible water leakage/damage?
4) Watts/sq. ft.:
according to my diagrams, my actual screen dimensions would be around 24"x 26" (~4.33 sq.ft.) with 6" ventilation around side and 2" vent front/back. This means 92 w/sqft.
According to actual grow room dimensions 36"x 30" (~7.5 sq.ft.) would mean 53.3 w/sqft.
IS THIS PROPER Watts/Sq.ft? (50 ideal)
IS THIS ENOUGH VENTILATION TO LOWER CANOPY FOR SCROG?
Do I need to make my cabinet deeper to allow for a larger screen size with proper ventilation?
5) What size water pumps do you run for something similar to my setup?
6) FAN OUTPUTS
a) Cool Tube: I have approximated about 9.21 cubic feet for the length of all duct work including light. With the planned duct fan @ 250cfm I would be changing air ~27x a minute. OVERKILL? I figure there will be efficiency loss with the accordian style duct work but should I just wire in a dimmer to "dial" in my ventilation?
b) Room/Odor exhaust: I have approximated about 24.75 cubic feet of space for Flower room- where exhaust duct work will be sitting. According to plan, I will wire up the 454cfm Inline fan pushing through a DIY Carbon scrubber. This means an air change of ~17x per minute. OVERKILL AGAIN? Should I purchase a speed control to "dial" in proper room ventilation? Again, more resistance with according duct work and Carbon scrubber.
c) Flow from Veg to Flower (with 90 degree bends for no light penetration): CPU Fan (unknown cfm at the moment).
I know I have a lot of questions but I looked up as much as I could and now I need some specific questions answered. I appreciate all the help and info this website has offered.
Sorry my diagrams are made with Paint, so they are not drawn to scale, but you get the general idea....
THANKS!!!
