Putting a 400w hps in a closet that is 2x6x7 and I am going to have a 4in inline fan (200 cfm) and I want to use a passive intake.

It is a closet with 3 normal walls and the front wall is gona be black plastic sheeting.

Questions:

1. Will that fan be enough to keep the temps down with this light and space.

2. How will I make a passive intake that is light proof and what size should it be?

3. Do you think I will be ok veging 10 seeds to 12in and then flower and take out males?

1. your gonna need a at least a 6 in fan
2. your going to have to work that out for yourself (must have 12 hour dark)
3. O.K. if you've got sativas or sativa domminant strains (indicas stop growing during 12/12 )

200cfm sounds fine to me, your room is 2x6x7 which totals 84 cubic feet. So if that fan is rated at blowing through 200 cubic feet per minute, I would say you have enough power with that intake.

where do you plan on putting the outlet to from the inline fan

the widowman, please lay off the useless advice. If you don't know enough about what your trying to advise then best not to answer the thread.:peace:

I am going to have it vent strait out the polly in the front... and also I am growing ak48 do you think I could start 10 in there then 12/12 at 1ft? Oh yea and if any one has a way to make a passive air intake that is light proof. I realy dont want and try to build a light trap just because of time and space... any other ways

small box with no top inside a larger box with no bottom. air goes in goes up goes down and enters the growbox. only take up about 4-6" and quick & easy to make.

i rekon a bigger exhaust would be better, a 200cfm is just over twice the volume per minute, somethin more like 400cfm would keep it cooler. if ambient temps dont get too high then 200cfm might be ok tho

I have been looking at fans for weeks trying to get the right one. Where did you find a 4" inline fan rated at 200cfm? I would double check that fact, Im unaware of any 4" inline (unless is centrifugal) fans rated at more than 80cfm and with any kind of a load they easily drop to 40cfm. Just looking out for you, and possibly Im wrong and you can hook us all up with a sweet 4" inline (200cfm) fan. Send a name or link to who makes it. Thanks!
