5 day old seedlings pushing roots out of the holes in dixie cup

Hey... my seedlings are 5 days old.. and 1 off them has 3 roots coming out of 3 holes on the bottom of the cup... I know they are too young to be transplanted but what do I do?...

the way I have it is... One 16oz transparent cup inside one 16oz red opaque cup... when they are stacked ontop of each other, there is about 1cm cap between the 2 cups on the bottom

the transparent cup is the only one with holes.

the opaque cup collects some of the drippings, and it pools up in that 1cm gap i was talking about

but what do I do about this?... this cant be safe for the plants

i was thinking of finding some pieces of perlite and plugging the holes up... before the roots start coming out even further.

let me know... thank you

Dont worry about it. Just let them do whatever it wont harm the plant. its probably because you have the other cup covering the bottum keeping it dark and making the roots think that they can expand out.

Just grow it bigger and once its a good size in that cup transplant.bongsmilie

positive on it wont hurt the plant?... they wont dry up or anything right?..

after another week or so, would there be a big tangled mess of root under that cup?

will my other cups have the same problem?

If the roots are pushing out of the container that they are in, it's time to transplant.

but I have never read of anyone transplanting seedlings at 5 days old

I used transparent cups so I can see the root growth... and right now its, really not that big .... it just looks like they shot straight down and didnt expand much outwards.
