The harvest yield is already set if you at least finish out the grow
Buds aren't suddenly going to produce vast amounts more
Sorry
The overall health and life of the plant is where yields are gained

Yours looks a bit abused :weed:

Yes. What I did was staggered the grow. Four plants 12/12 then two weeks later four more plants 12/12.

These four started turning yellow around the 4th week flowering, like my plants always did. The group helped me identify a Potassium shortage. I started adding PK 13/14 to these and the other four. The other four plants, week 7 today, look much better. Although the 7 week'ers are starting to yellow. So I upped nuites today.

Using GH trio and have been using only half strength . But now I think the strengthening needs to ramp from 1/2 to full over the last 6 weeks into the close.

I used to run GH
it tends to be a weaker solution
I used to add fish emulsion during veg

This is one of four plants I put into12/12 back on February 6th. 9 weeks today.

Someone please explain what I'm looking for to maximize harvest. I didn't start giving these PK until week 6. I think that's why the plants look bad. Under fertilized and no PK.
Look like nice buds to me.

You maximize yield by learning from your mistakes and bettering your grows each successive time till you get it spot on.

Those buds look about done to my eye. Have you looked at the trichs at all?

Yes, there are trichs and I looked at them. I only have a 25x loupe. To my eye the trichs seem to be cloudy and I didn't see any amber. I looked at the bud, not leaves.

"maximize yield" "finish out the grow"

So these buds don't look like they need to swell or anything? Are they done?

Always hard to say from a pic taken from a couple feet away. But they look swollen. They will continue to bulk up a little. But not much. Should be finishing soon.

that was one tough girl
She fell in love with her abuser.

The next four turned 7 weeks today. See how they are yellowing? Anyone got a helpful tip? (I'm considering a journal on here next run.)

Yesterday I gave them:

4 ml to 1 gallon Floramicro.
1 ml to 1 gallon Floragrow.
8 ml to 1 gallon Florabloom.
6 ml to 1 gallon Canna PK 13/14.

I looked closely at the buds today. All the trichs look clear. One plant looks like it might be ready to pick within the next few days, but that's a guess. The other three I'm guessing have a few days/maybe a week to go.

Yet another Trich guide. I used this one to compare with thew other other one. :)

Don't fall into the rut of harvesting based only on trichomes, I'd say at least 75% of people still harvest too early if this is the only thing they look at. Here is a good post with some other things to look for: https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/a-guide-on-when-to-harvest.666373/

The idea that amber trichomes = couch lock and harvesting early = "up" high is mostly bro science BS that people constantly perpetuate in the forums and never verify for themselves. Try a pure sativa with >50% amber trichomes sometime and note the effects!

Thanks for the link.

Looking at the plants one looks almost done. On the other three buds look like they have a little more time. Even though these plants look ugly the buds are turning out.

It's Runtz. Maybe they are a 10 week strain.

I've said the same thing that's in that thread regarding head or body high and sativa or indica until fully ripe. I might have picked it up from there years ago. It's an old thread. But people do grow couchlock strains and for some reason want a head high so they harvest early based off of cannabis broscience.

I like that old post, I link it to new growers a lot just for a different perspective since so many people focus purely on trichomes. It does crack me up when someone is growing some generic "fire" polyhybrid and they want to manipulate the high through harvest time.

I plucked the four. I noticed the main bud leaves are dying. I could wait another day or two but then the dying leaves would be receding into the buds.

The buds are sticky and hard so there is improvement over the previous attempts.

I've got four more to pluck. Will post pics in a week.
