a couple questions for more experienced growers...

1. is it good to foliar feed with plain water, while at the same time adding water with nutes to the soil?
2. the newest growth on one of my plants look burnt... should i wait n see if it will grow or try to top her? (ive never topped a plant) pic below is of the new growth im talkn bout

Hmm....there's definitely something wrong with the grow tip on that plant, but for the life of me, I can't remember what causes those symptoms. If you didn't damage it yourself, it's a deficiency, sulphur, I think(don't quote me on that, until you verify it.lol).

THe foliar watering isn't necessary, and IMO, can't do more harm, than good. The roots will take in whatever the plant needs, so, spraying the leaves will just add the risk of powdery mildew, light burn, fungus, etc.....which isn't a good idea. The only time I recommend foliar feeding, is if you have a deficiency, and want to keep the plant fed while you are locating the cause of the problem. While in bloom, I wouldn't use foliar at all, after buds have started forming, because it risks bud mold. :)

Foliar feeding is one of those things that people are split down the middle on. I think where most people get confused is that there's special additives specifically designed for foliar sprays, and that's what you want to use along with ph/ro water. Some people say only foliar spray at night, which is silly, if your grow environment isnt too hot your lights wont burn the plant. Plants dont burn in the rain either when the sun comes out of a cloud.

Just dont foliar spray after the 2nd week of flowering, there's no benefit to it at that point. My next grow experiment is foliar vs non foliar, (currently its topped vs no topping) so in a few months I'll at least be able to have some photographic evidence of if it hurts or helps

Yeah, foliar feeding is too tricky for my blood and my grows. It just seems like a bad deal unless you're really in trouble. When you overload your plant - especially through the 'pores' of the plant, it's hard to stop damage at that point.

It seems to give some good advice as to what you should do and what you probably shouldn't do. But it's early, so I haven't really looked it over in too much detail. My plants are doing well at this point.

These are some really good things to ask - wish I'd thought to ask them when I was first starting out. I really screwed some things up in the beginning.

We all been there done that. :) My very first grow ever, I didnt know what a male was. 2 weeks into flowering, I noticed the balls and said "Weird". Touched the plant, and pollen went everrrrryyyyywwwwhhhhere! Aaah, the good days. :) Nothing like dank weed with seeds!! :)

holy shit i sprayed them yesterday with ortho 3-in-1 rose and flower care, supposed to protect against fungal diseases n all sorts of bugs, but it has sulfur in it... what should i do??
