A few questions :)!

Hello, im a new grower and i would like to know the answer to a couple of questions!

1. After torturing my plant under CFLs for 1 month i finally put it under my HPS. Due to pretty low lighting i am afraid the growth was a bit too slow. However, it looks allright and due to time, i slowly put it into flowering 2 weeks ago. I am using an indoor seed mix containing Skunk #1, Afghan, Nirvana Special, PPP & Master Kush.
The seeds are mixed up. Now, i have been smelling it every now and then but after a few days HPS that smell really hit me. I have never smelled fresh cannabis before. It was like Sour Candy, good sour candy. At first i was only getting a hint of earth and i told myself its the soil im smelling. However, the smell really developed well in just 24 hours. Its amazing!!

I wanted to lick it but i couldnt. I understand smells are different and i wonder. Which one of the above strains is it more likely to be? they range from Indica/hybrid/sativa so its hard to tell.

2. Having this smell, does this mean that the flowering is on its way? i think i see pistils but im not sure.

3. I am using pine bark along with compost. When i put my finger down into its only slightly moist even the day after watering. Is it okay to water everyday? or is regular soil behaving the same way. Its hard to use common knowledge because my top surface is always crusty due to HPS heating the toplayer up.

4. My HPS bulb got a little bit of dust on it and sometimes slight buzzing occurs. Can i improve here?

5. Now that i got my HPS im throwing in 2 new 12/12 plants tommorow. they got 8 weeks to mature, shall i use regular soil or pinebark+compost. Its important not to make any mistakes. I thought it would be funny to compare tastes even if yield is much lower on these.

Indica and sativa are pretty identifiable by the leaf pattern. My ones were smelling in veg but it doesn't mean they are flowering! Only water when 1-2 cm of the top soil is dry. Don't know too much about HPS but just give it a little clean and I think that buzzing noise is because the HPS isn't screwed in properly, Use pinebark and compost for the 12/12.

Thanks! Well, i might upload some pictures soon. The thing is, i believe i screwed it in really tight! Its wierd how it goes away and comes back for a short while. I would say the plant smells like Sweet lime. Its a good description!

Many growers develop a plan before they germ there seeds ...but not you?

1: Avoid mixing up your seeds and forgetting to name-badge your pot, now you don't know fuck...? but with luck you will have smoke, post pics in 6 months for a better response
2: the plant is turning to bud ...still to early to comment still no pics..?
3: insert finger 2-3 inches got poo on finger don't water, on average water only 10% on the volume of the pot per 7 days, lift pot to get weight average.
4: smear Vaseline on bulb thread to make it easy to screw up or remove later, last thing is wipe down bulb with iso before switching on...Hollywood light trick
5: stick to regular potting mix don't fuck things up cause you wanna try shit out, get your first 1-2 grows done then fuck around ...out!

Thanks alot! The Vaseline is genius :) The mix really was a MIX. Seeds are all mixed up from beginning, no names, no nothing. I even had to Google the strains it contained as its not on Nirvanas homepage. Therefore i need to identify them :)!

I germinated the seeds because it is soon summer and when this grow is done for, i will be growing outside instead. I thought... well, i will have new seeds at Summer because those are all for indoor grow. Thats why i decided to throw them all in even if they get only 8 weeks from 12/12. I have not been able to do that before as i didnt have enough lighting. It doesnt really matter what happens to them but it would be fun to even get a small nugget from another strain just as fresh so that i can compare them.
Even comparing short 12/12 from seed vs short vegged normal.

I often insert my fingers into the soil. But its really hard to tell, the pine is a quite hard material and i cant get my fingers deep down without hassle. I wont repot as the plant is doing okay and repotting could be harsh to it.

What is iso?`Alcohol?

Regular potting mix wasnt avaible until later. Compost is like golden garden soil but i would indeed have wanted regular soil as of today. In there aswell, instead of nutrilized pinebark.

True, i dont put too much time into this ^^ Still want plants to be okay though. How much do you guys think i will get from this one based on the pictures? 1-5 grams? 1/5 ounce?

Im running 250W HPS. Its quite small since i didnt have more then 46W CFLs on it during vegetative.
Got the HPS a bit late.

I dont know if its in flower yet. I had 2 weeks of lightleaks with CFLs going 12/12 so i would say they got maybe 16/24 for some time, since some daylight was there aswell. Now that im with my HPS my growroom is much more lightproof and i can now say that im going into flower full out.

I got just about 8 weeks from now on to go. Thats why i wondered, when it starts to smell, is it going into flowering? The smell developed really quickly and very recently. I only get small hints when im in the room. though, when im real close it smells just wonderful. Sweet, sour.. almost a bit like jasmine.

Btw, is there any strain that has a really really sour taste? Like candysour? I would love to order some sour strains. THC level doesnt really matter, anything above 10 is a go i guess.
 
It's nearly impossible to identify what you're wanting to.. tbh I'm quite jealous you're this far in with plants still alive. Regardless you're doing something right. Congrats and read up some more!

Well, they seem to survive quite well. Hade my plant in a cardboardbox before, really just needed a roof so i could hang my cfl bulbs up. I have been lacking money since i bought my equipment. Last buy was a HPS and it ruined me for the month ^^ Along with other expenses. Now i got money but im not planning to buy a growtent as i got a homemade growtent now. Now that i know how good this stuff smells all i need is a few hits. I expect 1g or 1/28 ounce. It should be enough for me to get a good taste of this thing.

Never measured PH
Dont care about temps anymore

After checkin temps at the beginning, i kind of got the hang of it. I know how warm it is by feeling with my hand in the room and the plant will tell me when it got something to complain about.
 
You may have gotten this far with that attitude but with what I've seen on the forum you can't just not care or take necessary steps until something isn't right, then expect the experts on here to fix it for you

No... It isnt hard to grow cannabis. It might be hard if you make it hard. Its not a matter of life and death. Growers buy excessive stuff. Nutes are sometimes divided just so that companies can sell that stuff individually and make more money. Other then that. You dont need an advanced schedule, you dont need awesomely expensive lights, you dont need any added nutes at all if the soil is good.

This if my first grow, but from my experience so far with this plant, other plants and the information ive read. This one is easy

Learn one thing Sir, these plants grow Damn fast in comparison to other plants. They are super-easy to grow and The biggest issue You, Me and the Plants face, is the Law. I've read up alot on what i had to read up on. I believe you might have done that aswell. I was not asking about my plants health, and the Smell of the plant cant be described with words. Feelings, rarely can be described. That was my major issue. Is my plants going into flowering? Do they smell like this when they are going into flowering?

Your good at finding problems where there are none. You dont know a shit. I listen to the growers here as much as the guy gettin Straight A's in school does. I have learned alot from the guys here. The experts here DOES help newbies and novice growers to fix stuff for them. Its a nice way of giving back to one another, cause everyone is at that point sometime.

Do you think people had PH meters, Humidifiers, thermometers, Artifical light and concentrated nutes when Humans started growing? We dont need that shit man. Might increase success, but seriously, no need to over complicate.
