A unique take on growing MaryJ

Hi

rather than post on different threads I figured I’d lost my unique take on growing here for anyone who’s looking to venture a bit

there’s a lot of options out there, from mediums to lights to co2 vented sealed etc

ifcost is no issue, you’d install a large wallmount split ac, lots of fans for circulation, and in flower I would be using double ended hps fixtures, with co2 controller sealed room, venting at night. There would be supplemental lighting from high end LED (dehumidifier if somehow the wall mount isn’t enough for the room)..aeroponic system throughout lol but yeah that’s a dream room.

I’d have a separate grow room full of cmh and LED.

my room is more like this,

13x15

4x doubleended hps
24k btu ac venting out through a window that I cut a gyprock to size to fit inside and cut out 6inch holes to pass the exhaust from my fan from grow plus the ac in my flower room.

I do not have co2 sadly, but I stillpull just under 2.5p a light on average yielding strains so no complaints here.

my grow room is outdated, 1000w my vented air cooled hoods , they still do the job though just not very cost efficient I’d go with cmh and led if I had the cash rightnow..

I also grow in 100% perlite.
Hydro’ish set up essentially. It dries a bit quick but that also allows a lot of oxygen to rootzones at night, and it’s incredibly easy to flush I flush only 3-5 days and burns white white white ashes. It’s good for pests they aren’t attracted to it, and as it dries it’s good for gnats and bugs that like moisture at top of soil. I basically never have bugs, other than when I’ve taken in plants from other growers.

I water using a large Rubbermaid reservoir I think it’s about 65L or so.. I have a pump and garden hose with a long nosed sprayer to get in to the back of the room.. with co2 I would probably Pull just over 3p per light, so 12-13p with 4000w, hard to beat!

I water daily everything and sometimes twice a day if I have let a plant outgrow a pot and flower without transplanting it could dry before the day is up. But in 3gal finishing pots it’s once a day and mybushes finish at 4.5 feet roughly.

in these pics, it’s 2.5 weeks flower, strains are Hulkberry and banana og

have fun feel free to ask questions
I’ve been using just perlite for years I love it.

I've done side by side of two clones, one in dirt vs one in perlite only.

Perlite outgrew the soil... Bigtime! :bigjoint:

Thats kinda like Hempy buckets. Soil will have better tastes and flavors though. But those buds look big for 2.5 weeks in

Honestly, my favours are awesome it’s all about what they’re getting , when, and how much ;)
Dialing everything in could take a bit of time but once it is I’d put my hempy’ish buckets against almost anything besides aeroponic.. heres some pics, 5 weeks done, the close up is the nicest Hulkberry pheno .. enjoy. I had a bit of an issue with my a/c hose ripping 4 days in a row! Came down and it was 120fn degrees down there, so they over drank and yellowed up a bit ahead of schedule.. normally they’d look like that in a week or so , oh well no biggie had tons of foliage there anyway

Here’s a shot of my room right now, I had vegged these guys to almost 8 feet tall which I don’t normally pass 3.5feet, so I scrogged them down hard!
Here is how my room looks.. half of it is 3.5feet finishers half is scrogged.. enjoy

Hulkberry (royal queen) and trop juice (In house genetics)

the close up is week 5 of the only trop juice I can get a decent pic of .. since all my tops arein the middle of my scrogs..

Like a hempy without the convenance of having a Rez on the bottom so you don't have to water all the time.

Coco, perlite, DWC, coco.

Naturally the two on the right had more room and nutrients to grow, the two on the left produced roughly the same amount of bud, the extra leaves on the coco could have been luck of the draw with the clones that I took.

Actually, I block my holes partially so there’s a small Rez, a big one isn’t good either rootzone temps will be a bit high for that and could lead to root rot, I water once a day.. about 45min to water 160+ and that’s sufficient.. I used to do hempy buckets and drill holes an inch and a half or so but I find this is superior. Fresh water rather than stagnant is always good

I think it’s all about the oxygen the root zone is getting it’s hard to be more airy of a medium that perlite..
