ACMPR Insurance

Hey everyone, I saw an older thread about this but it looked like it died out. I also wanted to see if there was by chance any new information on the topic...

I am looking for a policy that would cover personal medical cannabis cultivation. Looking to cover fire/ theft/ flood... whatever

I spent all day talking with insurance companies and the furthest I got was that the 4 Rec plants are covered, beyond that, its grounds for having your house's insurance dropped.

Does anyone have a broker or company that they have successfully got ACMPR growing coverage with?

What about if you rent the house, is there a tenants insurance policy that would cover this?
Is there an option if you own the house?

How the HELL are there no options. You literally have to risk your house to grow enough medicine.

Please Help!

I am surprised that you received a positive response to the four plants. I assume maybe they were talking about four plants outdoors ? What province are you in ?

Alberta, and that was only a rumor stated from ACD insurance. But they "do not have a market to cover residential properties that are used for cannabis cultivation. We are only able to cover Commercial properties."

My insurance company (Wawanesa) stated in my renewal house insurance packege this year : "Nor do we insure loss or damage arising directly or indirectly from the growing, cultivating, harvesting, processing, manufacturing, distribution or sale of any drug or narcotic or illegal susbstance, whether or not "you" have knowledge of such activity. This includes any alterations of the "premises" to facilitate such activity."

I shut down my indoor grow. As far as i can see, nobody has house insurance that allows indoor growing.......

wondering if you found an answer to this?

thinking I was doing the right thing I went to talk to my insurance company (brokerage) about it. Told them the situation and told them the plant count, they (brokerage) were supportive but the companies have not been. they are trying to find me options but said the company currently holding my house insurance will not continue to insure me after April 28. they have asked 4 other companies all said no. They said it was good I called tho because my insurance would be void anyways even completely unrelated.

Apparently even growing your 4 will void your house insurance if you don't tell them. Noisy Fucks! ah!

not overly stressed but yes overly annoyed.

I am currently inquiring with ADC and IMG... see where that gets me.

I am so on the same page as you HOW THE HELL IS THERE NO OPTIONS? also anyone with an acmpr medical, their house insurance is void. what the actual fuck...

IMG looks promising says on their site they will insure households for person medical cultivation. do you have any more insights?
Hey yes I did,

Not entirely sure where you live but I am in Alberta and was able to insure (my 4 plants) through my brokerage, AllStateInsurance. They said the cost skyrocketed above those 4. My cost didnt change but they did want to know about it as they would of denied coverage if i didnt notifiy them. I wouldnt mention you are already doing it I would say "thinking about growing my 4" and see where the conversation goes.

I emailed "License to Grow" about if they had any connections and they said "LLloyds of London" will insure personal use grows of all sizes but I didn't reach out to them.

Hope this helps!

How is it legal for insurance companies to void your insurance if your growing something legal in your own home?
Not to mention having a amcpr to grow it, seems like a violation of our charter of Rights to me
