Hi everyone, I have a 1000 watt air cooled HPS and...heat problems. so a question I have is should I have the fan in my hood in the intake or the exhaust? or would it be effective to have both?

Also should I have an intake fan and an exhaust fan or just an exhaust?

Thanks guys:bigjoint:

you should exhaust the heat from the hps and have intake for a fresh oxy supply:).

what kind of fans do you have?

Well....lol...I have 3 110CFM fans and one bathroom exhaust that is about 110CFM. I have them set up and one fan blowing in the room, one fan blowing out, one blowing in the air cooled hood and the bathroom send cold air to the intake fan...I know sounds weird hey?bongsmilie

you have 4 fans so heres an idea...

one for intake and one for exhaust.
and the other two can..
blow into the fan with the cold air and the other one sucking out the hot and cold air you are blowing into it.

This will take out alot of the heat ya bulb is giving off

and this will help? I have been looking for help this whole time to try and cool it down and now I got it. The air being pumped into the room is about 75F and my room is small...about 4x3x4High, so I have been having heat issues.

no worries i got 2 small tents.
2x2x4 so its just a lil smaller than yours and i get my temps under control.

Nice, nice that's about what I am hoping for is about 2 oz's per plant. I have 4 in there too...maybe more later but 4 to begin with until I understand how to grow properly. I have a 1000 watt so 2 oz's + would be great!!

hell yea no porb with hittin 2oz.
how tall are they?

They are still babies, but growing exponentially in the mean time, only about 4" tall now but about 12 leaves. trying to keep them small so I think I am going to have to top them a few times...growing 3 WW and 1 NL, not sure at how big they get though

You have a room that ios 4x3x4, with a 300 cfm lfan blowing air into and out of the light, and another 300 cfm fan blowing air into that room, y9ou will still have trouble with heat. that room is just to small for that wattage of light. But,, BUT,, you can make it work with about $500 worth o-f fans an ducting. Boost up the CFM on the light to 405 vortex, and a 495 vortex puching air back in. this should fix the heat trouble. But each fan is about $250. Plus all the ducting and such items.
