do you want to upgrade to air cooled because your having problems with heat? or just for the sake of it lol :p

If you aint got any problems I wouldn't worry too much about it, but if you are then go for it:

A cool tube would be fine to use! you don't really loose that many lumens really as glass is barely reflective, plus your lights are so close to your plants in that 1m2 box that it won't make any difference in loss of lumens.

I've read about those cool stars, they are quite good but put more heat downwards (where-as the cool tubes make it so that not as much heat is reflected down) the reviews I've read on cool star hoods or whatever is that they aren't as airtight as the cool tubes but with a bit of bodging and silicone sealant they work fine, I think they supply them now with the sealant...

another thing I do if I'm stuck for a question is if you go to google (not to sound patronsing) but type this: site:rollitup.org ((make sure you put a space between the 1st part and ur question) your question here))
and it gives you ALL the results relating to your question from this site, (the best source out of all the forums imo)

thanks very much for your quick reply my heat is not thru the roof but it is at the very top end and i am trying to max my space no you do not sound patronising mate thanks for the tip will use it love learning new things thankyou

no worries, Glad to help XD

You can also make a cool tube for around £30 probably less, and if your in america you can quite easily get hold of those 'pyrex bakearound' things that are perfect for making cool tubes out of, otherwise you can go for candle holders of the right dimensions they seem to work well for people.
