air flow in or out?

what do you guys(and ladies) think is better i have 1 fan bringing air into the room from outside via a dryer vent and exhausting out of the closet passively, would it be better this way or to exhaust out the dryer vent and bring air in passively? my flower room has been getting hot with the increasingly hot weather.

I would use an outtake fan with the dryer vent and use a standard fan to force in cool air from your intake.

yeah look in the GROWFAQ. there is a post on a "passive intake/active exhaust" you want the air to be pulled in and the hot air pusshed out. this means you have no smell being pushed through your cracks and ensures a negative airflow.

You have your air system backwards, you want hor air to be pulled out of the room, then for intake you can either have a passive intake at floor level or a powered intake, with only one exhaust fan your better off going with a passive intake.

If it were me i'd leave the powered intake as it is,then i'd add 2 powered exhausts vented directly into the attic or scrubbed ,then out a chimney, you always want the exhaust to be stronger than the intake,it keeps most of the smell contained in the room that way plus makes a steady air flow across the room.

me three bumbumbum! i have combatted this by adding 2 gallons of frozen water in milk containers to my cab. it works great. in total i put four 1 gallon containers in there a day. 2 at 8 in the morning then 2 at 330 pm. i haven't had it past 86.

. . . . if you do this put your containers in open ziplock bags, the bag keeps the water from condensation, then put them in the flow path of your passive intake. don't block it but let the air make contact so it cools.
. . . .oh yeah if you can afford it you can get a thermostat for 30 bucks. it'll control your fan.

i always wondered about using a bucket of ice i want to use a bucket that the intake hose attaches to the lid and fill it w/ ice so air will come in the bucket through small holesin the lid and cool and get pulled in to the room. now that you posted i think i'm gonna try this.

i switched my fans around to pulling air out of the room and sending it outside via the dryer vent since my basement is cool (around 62-65)it has been passively bringing cooler air in from the basement my roon was about 90 before swiching the fans now i'm at about 80 wich isn't bad at least my babies are'nt wilting away while i'm at work

thank you guys for the replys

Bucket of ice is a waste of energy, it doesn't do the job and it is a pain in the ass. I suggest more fans or one of those table top air conditioners, I hear they are the bomb-diggity.
