Ok so i have everything i could ever what for my grow room, only one problem. the warm and dirty air that is being ventilated through has now way out. if someone can tell me, or put up a link on where i can use a computer fan to direct the dirty air outwards that will help me a lot.

--Summary--
I need a guide on computer fans (how to get dirty hot air out)

1 as a intake down bottom of box and 1 up near ur light as a exhaust... use a old PC power supply... to wire em up...

I rigged up some compy fans for a veg box, but with anything more than CFLs it's probably not going to cut it. You can really use any transformer you find around, as long as you have a number of fans you can connect in series or parallel to get the right resistive load. I ended up using four fans and an old laptop power supply putting two sets of two in parallel. I threw a pot on there and it works great.

you can wire them with a ac adaptors. the pc power suply is 350-400W , the adaptors are 3 W or something like that . think about that

yeah an AC adapter has a transformer in it along with the rectifier to convert AC to DC, which the fans need. you just need to look at the DC volts/amps output and compare it to what the fan should take. they vary quite a bit but if you hunt around on ebay you can find pretty much whatever you want for dirt cheap. if you're handy with either a soldering iron or wireless connectors and electrical tape, it's a piece of cake.

you'll want to mount it as was previously suggested, intake on bottom and exhaust on top. i installed a buffer near the intake so that it did not blow directly to the exhaust, but it depends on your dimensions/shape of your room.

yeah i keep mine outside of the box. you can keep it as far away as you like. the juice needed for those little guys is not much .. it's a computer laptop power supply running at far below its rated current.

Forget them silly lil comp fans unless your growing in a bread box,go to home depot & spend $20 to get an inline exhaust fan that will move some real air, just wire up a standard pluyd to the wires that hang off it & your all set.

That's great if you need it, but if - for example - you've got CFLs in your living space, you don't need the extra cooling power or need the extra noise.

Extra noise ? the fan on my pc is louder than my inline fans .

Ventilation is not just about cooling, the much more important aspect of ventilation is to keep fresh clean c02 rich air moving across the plants, you can NEVER have too much ventilation.

word. my pc fans are silent.

i also don't want ducting around my room. i'm sure i'll end up going that route, but at the moment the compy fans are fine on the veg and seedling boxes. what model fans you use? i've heard there are vast differences in noise. the ones i've checked out at my local hydro shop are sure as shit not silent.

they get plenty of air ... no worries there.

Just off the shelf standard inline fans from home depot, ive been looking around here for a few days for my damm DB meter to measure the DB level from a bud dryer i built,if i find it i'll measure the DB level & post the results.

That damm meter cost me $50 now i cant find it,i think one of my son's took it to measure sound pressure levels in their car stereo,i need to ask them when i see them.
