Anyone used a food dehydrater for drying?

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has ever used a food dehydrater to dry buds.

I am trying to sample a bit of it, but it needs to dry so I figured I could speed it up with the dehydrater.

The rest of the plant will be dried and cured properly.

Any thoughts?

My dehydrator only has one setting, on/off. I haven't had to in a while, thank god, but yeah, it works. So does the microwave if your in a real hurry. Chop it up like your rolling a joint, while still wet, roll it up in some paper towel, all spread out, and give it about three or four ten second blasts, flipping it each time. Roll your joint/pack your pipe, enjoy.

food dehydrators are not good for drying your pot period. if you want to dry them faster invest in an herb dryer. you can get them on ebay for around $200 dollars.

Cant remember where I read it but in regard to the food dehydrator apparently any temps over 85 will cause your tricombs to break down.

no man the best method to quik dry samples that i have found is turn your oven on to like 170 deg f and hang your bud from the grate, in about 10 min you have a nice warm crispy bud:mrgreen: may take longer for thicker buds but i recommend using less dense bud for this method.

Hey thanks for all the help and advice fellas, I appreciate it.

The one I have has settings and I used the lowest and left it in there about 4-5 hours. It was still kinda moist and didn't want to stay lit in the blunt.

It didn't have much potency. I got a quick head high and it was gone in 20 minutes or so. It's just bag seed so I can't expect much but I can't wait to try it when it's properly dried and cured. I hear the potency comes from the cure. I hope so.

thanx again

if a good dehydrator had a setting of 35*C can it work? this setting is said to be for herbs in the manual.
