Aqua Globes?! Good or Bad Idea?

Alright, so I grow hydroponically and I wanna try my luck with a little soil project on the side. Now given that my nutrients are on a week - week feeding schedule I was wondering if anyone out in RIU world has ever tried these Aqua Globe things. You stick them in your soil and it only feeds the plant when it needs water through the giant bubble on the end of the stem holding water. You can actually see the plant taking a drink when little bubbles come up the stem and the water in the globe slowly gets used up. My idea was to make a couple gallons of solution every week and refill the aqua globe with the proper strength solution that the plant is eating that week. Is this constant feeding of the plant when it needs it through a globe full of solution a smart idea? Just seems like it could save a lot of time and worry. Takes on the subject are appreciated.

Yeah, I'd like to know if anyones tried these also. They would be good if your going out of town for a week too, if they worked.

Well how about you both become friends with the search feature. This has been discussed many times b4
Wow, way to be helpful on the forum... Why not try and build reputation by finding me the link to the last place you found it instead of belittling two people for using the forum accordingly. It's not like my question was in the FAQ or anything. This site is about a community that helps each other. Not people being assholes.

Can you believe this guy? I'm sure just about every subject on anything to do with marijuana growing has been discussed somewhere at sometime including your comments to use the search option. So STFU and stop being repetitive. As for discussing it again, I might actually have questions for the person who's actually used it that previous threads didn't cover.

demonic1 keep subscribed to this thread. I bought the aqua globes and once I get them and try em out, I'll leave some feedback as to what I think. Take care and thanks for at least bringing attention to the thread with me.

I apoligize ahead of time for leaving a reply due to the fact that I have never used one of the globes. I have seen them aroung though. I do know that cannabis soil needs to be pretty dry before they need to be watered. Soil that is constantly wet will invite mold and mildew even if you have excellent air flow. Under the soil detrimental microbes will multiply. I have seen people post questions about using a drip system to slowly water soil on a continuous basis and they got the same reply. I hope someone who has used this can give you a hands on report as this is only an educated guess on my behalf. Good luck on your grow.

I am doing this right now.I joined here just to let you know i think it works. I mix 15ml of Sensi Grow A and 15ml of Sensi Grow B in 4L of bottled water and shake. I just fill em up when ever they are low. My plants are growing crazy. I am gunna have to top em early before they get too big for my grow box. This is my first grow and i figured it would waste less nutrients. You have to fill em up every 3 days. Also i havent spayed even a drop of water on the leaves and they are very dark green. If i figure it out ill post up pics

I bought $30 worth of the watering globes at WalMart last year. I was going on vacation
and had 6 plants just starting to flower and would be gone 8 days. I tried out one of the globes
ahead of time and it's a good thing I did. The next day all the water had drained out of the
globe and had drenched the plant. They are worthless.

IDK, i use cfls so maybe heat is a factor. i think they are made for in living room plants or patio flowers, not under high intensity lights. I fill em 2-3 days and my soil stays dry and my plant is healthy dark green.
be careful to not get them plugged with dirt. i did one day and didnt check my plant. i thought she was dead when i saw it 30 hours later. i soaked the soil good and put the aqua globe back in. checked it 12 hours later and and she was all perky again. got lucky i guess.
