Which is better for vegging? Cool blue 4100K or Full Spectrum 5000K
Aquestion for cfl guys

full spectrum is the correct one, they'd both work pretty well for vegging though.
Well the problem with the 'cool blue' is that 4100K is actually more of a yellow colour, blue is actually more like 8000K+ So out of the two of those bulbs I'd choose the full spectrum, 5000K...the 4100K will emit more of a yelllow than a blue (see scale below)

OK So what are the ideal ranges I should be looking at for CFL bulbs? red and blue. I havent seen bulbs that high(16000k)or low(1800k) in the kelvin range.

I'm pretty sure its daylight 5700K you want for veg, and soft white 2800k for flower.

most definitely for veg, make sure you've got plenty of lumens/sqft. just got a bunch of new cfl's today at wally world. general electric sells cfls in a three pack 6500k, they call it daylight 6500k energy saver. 1600 lumens/bulb on the 26 watt cfl. i didnt think that was right so i got my light meter for my camera out and checked the bulb at about 2 feet away. i was right on. 800 lumen, at about a foot away roughly 1400.
so... 6500-6700 and up = great for veg.

is it possible to veg with 5 2700k bulbs? cos thats what im dong at the moment, they seem abit streched but they look healthy there like 4 days old and have yet to show the second set of leaves. i have order 2 6500k bulbs which shud be here in a couple of days.
