auto flower?

Auto-flower strains are strains that flower by time period/number of days of growth and not by photoperiod, as in the changing of the length of light for day and night. They were created by crossing cannabis ruderalis strains, very low potency cannabis, with photoperiod strains of cannabis sativa, cannabis indica and crosses of both cannabis sativa and cannabis indica. They tend to be small and low producers.

Autoflowers are good for small spaces and a good strain for a first time grower. I have gotten 2 ounces dry out of them and very high quality. My fav is white dwarf.

so you set it and forget it lol , no turning lights on or off for any period they just flower on there own

Other than normal care and feeding, yes … you just let it grow and you do not have to concern yourself about changing the amount of hours of light the plants receive for them to flower.

You can leave the light cycle at 18/6 if you want, some people say they leave theirs on a 24/0 cycle. Either way you do not have to cut back to have a 12 hour or longer period of darkness to induce flowering.

I have never grown an auto strain but even though you do not have to change the light cycle to induce flowering wouldn’t it of course still be important to switch from MH to HPS, or switch Kelvin rated CFL’s from vegging bulbs to flowering bulbs if that is what you use, once the plant begins to flower?

Most breeders of auto strains recommend a 20/4 light schedule, people prefer 18/6 but these will grow under 24/7 of light, i have 6 on the go now all feminized on 20/4 and they bush out alot from the minute they pop out the soil they will flower within 2-3 weeks but i think the flowering time will be near enough the same time as any other plant.
Pls some1 correct me if im wrong!

I grew them with 24/7 and I shifted to more 2700k light as they moved into flower. One reason they are good for a first timer is that you don't have to worry so much about the lights. That gives you more time to worry about all the other things a first time grower has to worry about like nutes and pH and temps and humidity etc etc.
