Bagseed and royal queen power flower dwc buckets

hello everyone I am growing for the first time after doing hours upon hours of tedious research. I decided that dwc bucket would be the ideal way to go seeing as I am not always home to water or check them. I have a couple pictures from the plant I already have going. and I am currently waiting on a seedling to pop through in a peat moss jumpstarter. let me know what you guys think and please throw some ideas at me to help me and improve my crop. I have no problems with constructive criticism so say what you gotta say and help me if you can  \ the first picture is obviously the seedling that I am waiting on and the two pictures with the cfls are from 1/8/14 and since then the cfls have been moved onto the shelf with the seedling and I have just a hps on the bagseed. the third picture is of the bagseed after being in a dwc bucket for ~2 weeks. and that picture was taken today 1/11/14

happy growing everyone!

Looks like you are off to a good start. Make sure and keep your environment/res temperatures under control and start off feeding lightly.

The best thing you could do to promote faster growth and less hassles, like overheating the res using that drip ring, is to use a smaller netpot. Either transplant them up in size or start with small and stay in them. I use 2" netpots from clone to harvest with great results. This allows the roots to reach the nutes faster and also you can get a true 5gal of nutes in the bucket.

the drip ring is actually keeping the res temp close to perfect as it is cooler in the room sometimes because I am in the middle of a harsh winter here. the room has an exterior wall for one of the walls so it gets chilly in there, have to keep a humidifier and fan on and rely on hps heat to keep it nice in there. and I was considering using smaller net pots but the only ones they had at my local hydro store were the big ones like this, I wish I could find the smaller net pots with built in 5gal bucket lid near me. but thank you all for the feedback and I will continue to post pictures and progress and we will all see how this goes :) happy growing everyone!

lol I know man, but I am new to this site so I wasn't sure if people looked through the grow journals or if people just posted them on the forums section so I just did both to be safe :P

kinda worried about this power flower though. the seed came up out of the ground but it is not coming any higher up and the shuck is still on :( its been up out of the ground for a couple days and hasn't shedded it yet or grown up at all. any suggestions?

Take some tweezers and gently pull the seed off of the plant. Make sure not to break anything off though, that's what I do.

alright thanks man, will most likely try this method next time as I believe it will harm the plant if I try to transplant it now...

I just caught my cat in my room and I look and the plant is half knocked over and there is a piece missing off of one of the leaves. I think she will be ok though. I stood it back up straight and hopefully the chunk he took out of the leaf doesn't hurt the overall health of the plant

still am unable to upload pics my phone is down and out right now :/ but they are doing ok and the shuck finally fell off of the power flower and the leaves are about to pop :D super pumped about that girl :) I will keep you guys updated. I am also thinking about upping my nutes on the bagseed this Friday (which is when I do my res change) I think she can handle it and it is starting to get 1 small yellow spot on one of the older leaf sets so im thinking that she is a little deprived. before I only did 1/4 str nutes so I think she can handle more. lets hope so! happy growing everyone! :) stay high!
