Becoming an Aussie

As with most countries, to become a citizen of Australia, you must pass a test of sorts. Well, we think the 'official' test doesn't cover some essential language and socialising skills that the average person needs to survive and enjoy this great country. So, starting today, Ph03nix and I will begin the new Aussie Citizenship Test, exclusively for RIU folks.

To start off, we'll explain the term 'Billy'.

Billy (noun): A bong. Generally accepted to be coined after the swagmans billy, a tin can with a wire handle, used to boil Tea. Sucking on a billy sounds much like a billy boiling as well.

OK, your first two questions, and these are important. Fail either of these and you will be rejected before you get here...:dunce:

PLEASE NOTE: Aussies are exempt from this test. This is for our OS friends to see just how strange we are.:eyesmoke:

Q1: What is a stubby?

Q2: What is Mullumbimby Madness and where does it come from?

Close guys, but no prize...

Come on then. The next questions won't go up until these are correctly solved. They're not that hard...

Ok, a hint...

1... Every aussie likes one.
2... think about this site.

All I know is what you folks call what we call 'round here "crawfish", or "crayfish", or "crawdads" or "crawdaddies" or "mudpuppies". :D

I may know more than that, but at the moment I'm not entirely sure.

Sshhh... that might relate to one of the later questions...

Well, the first question has been answered correctly. A stubby is, in fact, a bottle of beer... a 375ml bottle, to be more precise. It's just enough to drink before said beer becomes either stale or warm. Some breweries make stubbies that have less in them, but we won't talk about them because they're bastards.

So yay for Njsurf14... we're going to rep those who get the correct answers, so yours is on the way. As for the rest of you... shame on you. Aren't we supposed to be allies?

As for question no 2... I guess another hint??? Well, what other relaxant is an important part of our society? Think hard now...

Mullumbimby Madness

MullimBimbyMadness.jpg

An old strain originating in the Mullumbimby/Nimbin area. One of the first 'named' strains in Australia. MM is a Sativa that most likely originated from Asian strains brought to Oz in the seventies.:eyesmoke:

OK, next question:

3: This is a sports question in three parts:

a: Who was the 'King of the Mountain'?

b: How did he die?

c: Where is his memorial museum?

Go on, flick over to Google and cheat...bongsmilie

I think the bra boys are famous for that. But then, I haven't surfed for thirty years, so can't say for sure...I lost interest after all these big blokes tied me to a pole at Maroubra and pissed on me...

Yep, Peter Brock was/is King of the Mountain (that is Bathurst-Mt Panorama).

K, yep, he died in a Daytona at Targa West (car rally) in Western Australia.

The museum is actually at Yeppoon in Central Queensland...which we thought was a strange place for a Brock museum, but it was started by his mate who lives in Yeppoon and had a large collection of his cars and other stuff.
