best flourescent lights for flowering

What are the best flourescent lights to use for flowering? I know warm and cool, but what is considered a warm light? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Hi Oliver, any cfl from 23 watt upwards with a kelvin rating of 2500k to 3000k would be Ideal for flowering. It would be no harm to add a couple of 6500k cool whites also for a better spectrum while flowering the plants seem to love it. Good luck with the grow, check out the site and stickies plenty of info to help even the most novice grower.

You probably know this, but anyway....

100 real watts (minimum) per plant and an additional 50 real (minimum) watts for every extra plant.

Like Green said, use a mixed spectrum, the plants love it. For flower a 3:1 ratio of 2700K to 6500K bulbs, for veg it's the other way around.

Keep the bulbs close to the top of the canopy, and a little side lighting wouldn't hurt.

To be honest, I've vegged and flowered under CFL's. I couldn't be happier with what came out of veg, flower - not so much. So I've switched my flower to HID, 1,200W HPS and 400W MH, what a friggin difference.

Good luck and have fun.

The type you use is personal preference, and depending on grow room size and the amount of plants you intend on growing. I'm using cfl bulbs in a small closet. A lot of people use T8's mixed with acentic lights (aquairium lights for corals) in bigger grows. Is that specific enough Sir ?
