early versions of og18 were very close to the actual banana Kush I tried and grew from Elite Seeds 90s dude. He was hot on og strains till busted. Apparantly not smart about growing and selling.

What’s the story with this Banana Kush? I did a thread about Banana Kush a while back and couldn’t really lock down a lot of info. All I could find about elite seeds was a strain called “Banana Joint”.

Banana og or ogres, banana kush was an expression found when Orgnkid got the og kush clone and pollinated it with the 60/40 from sagamartha seeds

Some people do say they are the same. Jaws was gifted the genetics from Orgnkid at F7-F8. Although Banana Kush was not first presented to any cup by Orgnkid. It was Dankonomics if Im not mistaken, but I couldn’t get a reply from them. There is also croketts banana Kush which they claim is their own mix which came out around 2010 as one of their original packs but were already growing cannabis in Cali before that time. Eventually I hit a dead end.

The Breeders of CaliKush also claim its creation. Sensi did a limited release one time but finding info on it is rather difficult.

I got some Banana Kush from a local MMJ delivery service recently and it was by far the best weed I have ever had. I wanted to try and grow it myself some day but can't find much info about it. Does anyone know where I can get seeds, or maybe a clone?

Around 2010 here on rollitup the dude grew and sold seeds here but thru direct email. He was the hottest thing going here for all the cali clone only sfv kush strains that at the time even mailing seeds was a serious no no still. The dude put up fire pictures and seeded all the clone versions. Known for complete fire on many of his strains but apparantly a hacker folkls were not happy with his polon sacks and often seeds were weak germ rates. The key was real deal fire many wanted outside cali clone only bubbas, sfv and banana kush varieties he breed and crossed. I got 3 packs of different varieties. Germ rates poor about 3 per 10 pack. 2 packs never germed. ONE banana Kush grew out and i think self seeded in my grow. It was the best this old man has ever smoked. Ton of seeds, fire of fuel, deisel aweomeness Ive only found hints of smell to this day close. I got maybe 150 seeds from it. Grew those several years that produced the same fire for several years better then anything bought or grown. Sadly after 5 yrs they remaining seeds would not germ and Ive tried a few every year with nothing germ......so I am looking.....
Ther dude going by Elite Seeds got busted for growing in an illegal state soon after my seed buy. He was in the news about it I saw paper write ups on this web site linked. He got good jail time I suppose for being a felon busted for grow- pot seed sales. Lot's of nervous folks here and other sites he advertised on threads but took the bus on email. Occasionally you run into botique seed companies mention him in crosses but I have not found anything close. His pics of his grows were special fire pics everyone admired. Being old lol ive seen 3 or 4 varieties of different 10 yr periods that just flamed out for some reason Id so enjoy if....like banana kush, Christmas tree green smelling 80s sense, Hawaii bomb and tye stink vietnam. Wish.....

So essentially they were S1s of the legend cut of Nor Cal Banana Kush correct? When I spoke with Crockett they said they had to change the name because a strain of banana Kush was already in existence. This being the legendary Nor Cal Cut. Dankonomics the only person I’ve heard to actually have the original cut. But not the one he used for breeding.
This thread has Breeders like Hammerhead, Jaws, and Dankonomics debating. I think dank would be the old head of this group since he was competing in cups before these guys had labels but like I said even he says his is not the original. I’ve been chasing this strain for over 10 years already.

thanks. Let me know if you find it or close? I read for weeks years ago trying to find those strains and tried 3 or 4 breeders. All good weed no real complaints but nothing close to the fuel, deisel kushy high taste. All these breeders I read about today, none were here back in 2010 or Id remember. Not hard to get started breeding so I get everyone in the new frontier. Leary of the next new great breeder. Ill keep watching as if would be worth it. Dam sure would breed new seeds every 3 yrs so the seeds don't die cause mine just one year no more after many good yrs. sad really....

Chiquita banana is suppose to be bomb from utopia farms. Pretty sure it was made by Orgnkid though. Are they using an actual cut of Chiquita from Utopia though? With all the game from high times I don’t think they ever let it out after the rename. There is another company called Banana Peel Genetics. They have a Chiquita banana x Banana OG F3 hybrid but it’s made from Hammerheads S1 which have herm issues.
