I think I'm finally going to start dabbling into some hydroponics. Currently running some hempy pots on my current grow, but looking for opinions on what the best beginner setup would be for 4 plants max. I'm also thinking about buying a flood try to grow vegetables this winter. Thanks for helpin this noob out.

I've tried many different mediums from organic amended soil, Promix HP, DWC, Coco, etc. and DTW Coco is by far my favorite.

For 4 plants I'd get some 2-3 gallon fabric pots, a small res and submersible pump on a cheap timer that can go down to seconds. Run either 1/2" poly tubing or PVC from the submersible pump to a manifold where you connect the 1/4 micro tubing and run bubbler stakes or even open 1/4 micro tubing.

Ran hempys last round and I'm now vegging in 2g fabric pots. What's your irrigation schedule in flowering? I dont want to be wasteful

It depends on lots of different factors. How established the roots are, your flow rate, temps, pot size, what kind of lighting etc. I run my system until I see about 15% runoff and record how long that takes and set my timer accordingly. In the peak of flower I might feed 2-3x daily.

I run from 4 plants to 8 plants horizontal and 5 plant vertical in two gallon coco filled Smart Pots.
Here is my simple setup. Cost $100 to $150.
27 gallon rez.

Rainbird emitters. The white fitting inline is a QC connection, can remove the plants from the tent to work on them.

It has taken awhile but I finely got the irrigation system where I want it.

Good luck on your grow!
