Grow healthy plants!!

I just want to see what you guys have to say, maybe get a conversation going but I am just learning how bugs and disease do not attack healthy plants. I have used Azamax in the past and I still have a little bit left but I am not really wanting to use it. Even though it's organic, you do not find such high concentration of the active ingredient in nature. Neem oil as a preventive measure is ok in my opinion but I am really diggin this health - bugs - disease topic.

The following books descriptions are from Phil Nauta, founder of the gardenerspantry.ca, now gives online gardening class:

Healthy Crops. This is one of the organic gardening books that really changed my thinking. The book was a difficult read for me the first time, but for some reason it clicked the second time. The main thing I learned is that pests only attack plants that are nutritionally imbalanced, generally because of an excess of soluble nitrogen (which can be caused by different problems). You won’t learn a lot of practical organic gardening advice, but it will absolutely change your viewpoint on “pests”.

Tuning in to Nature. Learn how plants and insects communicate through emissions in the infrared frequency range and why poisonous pesticides do not solve the real problems facing agriculture. Callahan uncovers why certain insects are attracted only to certain plants, and how plants under stress literally signal insects to come devour them. A bit technical, but fascinating. Another paradigm changer.

Isnt this fascinating or its just me? anyway I thought I would share with the organic community. I am ordering Healthy Crops just now.

Happy growing!
