Looks great, nice and solid, light too, must've been good trim. I usually get about 5-6 grams per oz trim.

A great tip, if you don't already know, is to use the quatriple filtered butane, no gassey after taste like you can get with the cheap stuff.

theres the plant it came from, ive used all sorts of homemade extractor tubes but ive just got one of these honey bee extractors and i must say im quite impressed with it, i only used the heavily crystal'd small leaves and lower fluff bud, suppose there was about 25grams of it that made that, i only roughly ground it and did it while the trim was still semi-wet, i find if you let the trim dry right out and grind it to dust you get more but its a greener lower grade oil, i wanted a nice grade for the first use of the honey bee ex. the butane i use is made for catering uses as well as lighter refills and its meant to be ultra refined and filtered and impurity free. im half way through a joint now and im wrecked!

Hahaha I bet you are :bigjoint:

I had my glassblower friend blow me a tube... It looks like a hollow dildo.

You put the butane in the penis tip end, I use regular wide gauge silkscreen and a rubberband on the end. Definately better with good trim, what yours looks like...

I've had pounds of shitty canadian import weed that nobody could sell, and made oil outta it, turned out dark and thick syrup, made tons of money on it. It was still great hash... Compared to crappy mids. Still tasted like mids though...

very nice oil. I love that stuff.

It is very light color. Is this from the quality of the trim or do you think it has more to do with the size of the trichome heads used from that strain?

I really want to make some golden stuff. usually I end up with black stuff. Dank tho..

that glass tube sounds cool, you can actually see the butane doin its thing!
the honey bee just uses coffee filter type paper and you get three round filters with it, il be cutting loads of filters 2moro from coffee filters.

well the trichomes wernt fully developed cos i had to harvest it maybe 5 or 6 days early to make room for the next lot going into flower as they were outgrowing my veg room, i think its more to do with only using the small lower buds and bud leaves, only stuff that has alot of resin plus extracting while its still slightly wet as opposed to drying to dust, im struggling to see my keyboard here! :eyesmoke:

Hahaha :bigjoint:

I usually 'freebase' it off a charcoal used for burning resin incense, with a glass slide, just like a crackhead, they call it hippie crack for a reason.

As far as making light oil...

It really has a lot to do with having good trim only, not ground fine, to maintain the solid glands.

Mids make a black tar no matter what because of degradation.

It's best to make oil right after harvest, after they've got the the first dry stage, trim off trichrome covered leaves for making oil, the jar and cure *the bud.

A lot of people wait and make hash later out of old trim, the fresher the better.

It really has a lot to do with quality though, old dank still makes light solid oil.

Also stir out the bubbles as the butane is evaporating, I imagine there's a thread that has all this crap on it, I was self taught from a growing book's supercritical fluid extraction technique, then trial and error...

Also don't grind to much... Important.

thats just how i do it, 1-2 days of drying the trim, so the leaves are slightly crispy but the lil buds are still wet, in the grinder, just 3-4 turns of the grinder only. and voila........ you have dense sticky light oil.
