As unbelievable as it sounds, it puts out less heat then a 26 watt CFL! My 26 watt bulbs almost get uncomfortable to touch but my big 68 watt bulbs don't even feel warm, like they're not even on.

i grow w/ two 105w there as big as a small football,verylittle heat.as i recall there bout 6500 lums apiece.find em on 1000bulbs.com bout $45 delivered to my door.

These are the shit! I got a couple myself and my girl loves em. Also heat is definetly not a problem. I'm dreamin of a room full of these someday!
It certainly does screw into a normal socket. you just have to make sure whatever socket you are using can handle the wattage/voltage.

im planning on making a cooltube kind of thingy for my box cuz these may be cooler than a 23 watt but it still burns the plants!
im prolly going to ge 3 more for my new box..
when its done its going to look like an oversized pc case!

i have just invested in a 1000w cfl hood with 4 x 250w cfls inside all self ballasted and screw in to the supplied e 40 fittings , which is the same as all cfls i believe! the bulbs are 10" long and 6" in girth u can change bulbs during the grow ie 3 6400k and 1 2700k for veg and vice versa for flower. the dimensions are 1m long 70cm wide and 250mm deep perfect for 1m sq grow 
they are 250 quid on envirolites .com have a gander. i usually grw hps but due to uncontrollable high temps im gunna join cfl club will be settin up room wen my b cheese is done undewr my hps in bout 3 weeks so will post sum pics 
does anyone have any pics of their final buds so i can see wat to expect from cfl growing i have heard mixed reports??

i didnt till i had agd look at wat was out there , plan is to grow sog or scrog so i can keep lights real close at all times, will be my first cfl grow though so we will see how it goes lol i have a 250w drop down at the mo, they really are a gd add on no heat and very bright

I think I prefer more cfls of about 105 or 125 than the huge ones. The prices are better watt for watt, and 4 105s position better than 2 200s.
