"Breeding Box"

I am on my last seed of my favorite variety. So, I decided to clone it and cross it with itself to get seeds. While going thru the trouble, I decided to cross it with 2 other strains as well.

So, what I have for myself is 4 clones at this stage. I just built a box large enough to contain them and wrapped it with some "shade cloth" ...

I intend to cover them with it at 6pm giving them light from 6am till 6pm. Plus at 6pm they will be shaded for the evening.

This isnt going to be pitch black until the natural sun outside finishes setting, but will the heavy shading be sufficient to keep them believing its flowering time?

you just said 'shade' and 'pitch black' those are in different worlds. I can see right through that mesh. And the box looks tiny, how long do you plan on keeping these things in there?

Do you have a male or pollen for this? or are you planning on reversing?

The box is 2x2x2 .. I can completely close it off, but i figured the mesh would help with air flow. Big enough for what I want to do. I want seeds from these clones, not a pound of weed. No point vegging them.

No, I dont have a Male. I will be using silver to Hermie one of them.

The only space I have inside is being used for proper growing. This is my 1 option and I want to have this done before my actual outdoor grow is rolling

Completely enclose it with some ventilation, use a solar panel/timer/led light and PC case fan inside.

Or if you want to run electric to it, easy enough but DC might be safer. Sounds like you just need to make it a full fledged light-tight enclosure from what you're describing - my 2c.

not sure if you can "trick it" but you may be able to hermie it by doing that ? im not sure.

i do know its not as dangerous indoors as you might think. sure you would have to seperate it and be careful but from what i hear it wont ruin your crop just because its close.

Ok, fast forward and we have a result.

A couple weeks of 6am wakeup and 6pm night time under a barn, in this box, with a black sheet over it, and we are going great. Three clones I want to cross into are officially flowering and the plant i want to cross in has been hermied with silver and is doing his thing. Thanks for the input yall
