Brown leaves. Bottom leaves dying while in veg. Nutrient burn or deficiency?

Hi. I'm using Jack's 20-20-20 about 1 teaspoon per gallon. I use it each time I water. I wait for them to dry completely and then I feed.

I looked for leaf issues like this but I can't seem to find anything like it.

The leaves are browning and at the base of the plant are drying off and dying. What do I do? Am I feeding too much? Too little?

Please help. I want these babies to be healthy.

It's hard for us to see much under blurple lighting. Also, there's not enough information, growing media, watering frequency, et al.

That said, it's not the best fertilizer for the application: Too much P and no secondary or micro nutrients. Jacks has a line up of nutrients on their website with a section that mentions cannabis. Folks here have often mentioned Jacks 3-2-1.

Looks like your plants are overfertilized, with secondary and micronutrient deficiencies, including calcium and copper.

Good luck.

Definitely overfed … if that is “ soil “ and you are feeding twice as much as label states, then you can see why this is happening to your plant.

You have to at least follow the label and not dump nutes on it. I would feed ONCE a week with just water in between, so plant can work thru the excess as best it can. The plain watering ( when needed ) will begin to dilute the excess buildup.

LIKE EXCESS SALT BUILDING UP IN THAT MEDIUM.

PLUS …. You can see the dark shiny color of leaf ( excess nitrogen) which can impact your plant.

Lastly - what lighting are you using . It looks like it could use more .

Ok. I am overfeeding. I'll cut back to feeding once a week per the package and watering with water the other time.

The grow.medium is 50 percent fox farms ocean, 25 percent vermicompost, 25 percent vermiculite.

I'm using a black dog 600. I have had better results before with this same.light. but until it dies, I don't want to get a new one.

Another tip :

You can also topdress more FFOF alone - then water that in. This will feed your plant without complicating the feed it needs.

FFOF can feed your plant for weeks on water alone. No guessing , no figuring out nute amounts or other drama. It is a very nute dense medium and will do most of the plants feeding .
