Brown marmorated stink bugs - possible grow room repellent

Hi there everyone, our area is pretty bad for Brown marmorated stink bugs, you have probably heard of them or seen them, they are brown to black and have a shield shaped body, and there are not really any foolproof methods to get rid of them. I may have found a moderately effective repellent. After reading around that they do not like strong odors like pepper, garlic, onion, etc, I made a mixture out of water, garlic powder, minced onion and black pepper. At first I was applying a spray to my grow room but with the ventilation going it was not staying around very long. Then I decided to do something a little different; I put a small 2 inch dish with a little pool of this mixture in it, right in front of my heater/fan. Over the course of one night the stuff evaporates into the air, and the room constantly has a faint garlic odor. Now if you don't mind this (personally I rather like it), it may be fairly effective at repelling stink bugs. Since starting this method I haven't noticed a single stink bug in my grow room! It could just be coincidence, because we've had a spurt of really cold weather, but in general that has not stopped them before. I'll update if I have any further information but this could be worth a try if anyone is having problems with these brown marm. stink bugs
